So whats the deal here you are replacing the whole engine on your Ram on your dime?
Yes sir! And dime is Loosely Loosely loosely....... Fitted to almost $7,000.....
For myself this is my entire savings. Gone!
I will make it back up with another decade hopefully.
I am just a regular nine-to-five person like most of you guys and girls.
Something like this is a really hard hit for me.
But I will smile through the entire ordeal!
I will never allow someone to break to me.....

how many miles did the old motor have on it? So they put a brand new crate motor from MOPAR in your truck?
My old motor had 105000 miles.
The new motor I had put in is NOT another failing Mopar engine....
It is a remanufactured engine built by Jasper.
If you want to look them up and check them out I left links on my YouTube page.
They actually spent time and have done research on fixing problems that causes engines to fail, then addressing them and fixing it....

Wow. Just wow. Only 105,000 miles (168,000km for us Canadians).
That's crazy.
A little over 92,000 when mine failed on my 2011 Sport. There is a company (can't remember the name off the top of my head) making replacement lifters that have more material on the roller ends, and eliminates the VVT by removing the part in the center of the block under the manifold that triggers the VVT. If mine fails again, I will be going to this.

Man I hope for your sake Jasper engines have improved. In my younger years I blew the engine in my Camaro from beating mustangs all to death every weekend. Put in a Jasper engine because of the warranty. After the 3rd jasper engine within a year (which they did pay for with warranty including labor), I traded the car off. The engines were all totally gutless too.

I tried to get to the garage earlier to show the engine being put into the truck but WORK got in the way.... Sorry boys and girls. It still made a good montage. Hope you enjoy.

Replacing the engine is a fix for ticking lifters?

An understandable question Sherman.
I could have just got a new camshaft, lifter and valves but at the end of the day, I still would have had an engine with a 100,000 miles on it. The price difference for me was $2000 more to replace the the engine. So as I planned on keeping this truck for 10 years, it was the best decision for me.

I went on the Jasper site and it says nothing about the Lifters, mentions the Cam, Pistons and rings, connection rods, wrist pins, rod bearings, crank bearings and crank, and of course oil pump, timing chain and gears and tensioners, New Heads and Intake plenum.
