WOW.. THANKS MAN.... im really hoping thats all mine is, the injectors.... and good to know yours is fine.... i see youre a south florida guy too... im here in hiollywood...
take care and thanks again to all who chimed in on my problem, cant thank you guys enough...

Hollywood huh, that's cool. I'm in Davie! I switched to Amsoil signature a few weeks ago and it made my truck quieter. Pull off your engine cover and listen at start up. You will be able to hear the injectors better. I do find mine make more noise with certain types of fuel.

i took it to dodge and the master mechanic started laughing and he told me " if i ha a dollar for every time someone brings the hemi back for this " so he went and started around 4 to 5 new ones and sure enough they all did it some more than others . My truck just hit 30k and it still does it and never ever had any problems with that truck , and let me tell you he does not rest its driven 7 days a week and lots of miles in Miami heat and sucky traffic . So enjoy it and don't sweat it !

Umm, that's interesting. I heard the tick on mine when I first bought it used last year. Like I said earlier I use Supertech synthetic oil and haven't heard it since. Again it's something I don't think about much when I start up the truck but it's not noticeable if it does do it.

Now, who knows if it's the oil the or not. I'm still on the fence about all these magical fairies in the RP, redline, amosil oils..LOL. So take it for what it's worth.

I hear a ticking after I drive it fast and hard, but nothing on start-up or after normal driving.
I'm switching to Redline on Friday. Will see if that does anything...

Has anybody checked their oil pressure when the engine is hot at idle? My truck sounds like it knocks when hot and my oil pressure gets down to 19psi. It runs well ,,,but the noise gets to me. while im on the highway , the oil pressure is 50 psi. I think I am going to try Amsoil.

If you can hear it at Hwy speeds I think you may have bigger issues than the hemi tick.

You're doing good staying on the fence - I've tried all 3 oils, nothing really changes. The only one that stood out from the rest was Mobil 1, I thought my engine was going to rattle itself apart lol

I know with my headers my engine ticks are super loud on start up. I've quadruple checked and verified no leaks in my headers at the block

Mine never ticked till 100k miles when I changed the spark plugs. Now, it ticks. It might have to do with proper spacing on the plugs.

I bought a 2011 RAM last week that had a ticking sound and went away after it warmed up. Concerned, I had the service manager listen to it after it cooled back down because it sounded like the lifters and he verified it was Hemi Tick.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIVE WITH THIS!

I was told that the bolts holding the exhaust manifold are defective and the ticking part are the bolts. When the manifold heats up, the metal expands and the ticking goes away.

Over the life of the vehicle it GETS WORSE because the bolts weaken. If the bolts break, your engine is screwed.

There is no official recall for this (he said there should be but there isn't because it is an all day fix and they wouldn't be able to handle that much work all at once), however it is covered under the power train warranty and Dodge HAS TO FIX IT. They aren't going to tell you your vehicle has Hemi Tick. I only found out about it because I wouldn't by the truck if the ticking wasn't fixed. That's when he admitted the story. Mine is being fixed tomorrow for FREE.
