Couldn't tell much but seams like what I heard it would be a problem with gas or air. Didn't seam like much and if no other symptoms when driving, maybe it is clogged injectors or fuel filter, or even air filter.

My puter is acting up because I didn't hear much to worry on. Firefox is as bad as explorer now.

I couldnt tell you what it is, but mine does it too. Only on the first start of the day. It can sit for 9 hours while Im at work and it starts fine, but sitting over night and it does exactly what yours does.

Mine does it also...mine is a tad more delayed than yours it almost is like it's not getting enough fuel o n the initial start up. Idk why but it seems more frequent after I tuned the truck.

Same thing happening to mine and started within the past few weeks. First start of the day only, it cranks, couple sec pause, starts. Did some digging and it seems to not be a huge issue. Some thought it could be a weak battery but most thought was some kind a fuel issue. Not sure what it could be myself, but going to try different gas and maybe some techron concentrate.

You're not alone bud. My does this too on the first startup of the day. It annoys the **** out of me, but as long as it keeps starting I'm ok. When I get closer to my warranty running out I might take it to the dealer.

After using techron and changed to 93 gas it's been getting worst , well at lease more noticeable. It's been 1.5 months since I have been on 93 gas, just an FYI.

The Chrysler/Ram 5.7 is just known to have cold start "complaints". I say complaints instead of issues as it just seems to be an annoyance instead of an actual problem.

A few things to try (I eliminated it on my 5.7 Challenger)

Check the torque on your intake manifold. 100% of the cases I have seen reported show that they are loose from the factory, or they just back out over time/heat cycles. For me this also improved throttle response.

Run a good fuel cleaner. Techron concentrate is a favorite but my choice is Redline SI1 as it has more PEA in it (the main ingredient) than the Techron plus a supposed UCL.

If still on factory installed plugs, change them. This may seem a little drastic but if your really want to fix the issue then its worth it. Every instance I have seen of someone reporting the gaps on the factory installed plugs show that they are very inconsistent. I pulled mine at 20k and some were very under gapped while others were very over gapped. I gapped the new plugs myself and installed, it helped with the cold start as well as reduced my knock retard.

My car had less than 20k miles when I started getting cold start and idle issues. The combination of the above completely eliminated the issues.

Hmmm I did notice this was occuring right after I started putting in 93 at fill ups not 89 like I was. Still going to try techron and go back to 89 see what happens.

Update: I switched back to 87 gas on June 12th and since then I haven't had any hesitation on starting up.

EVERY morning and occasionally on a start up after a long sitting - it does exactly what you are stating.

I only have 1,200 miles on it so far...running 89...still use a fuel cleaner and change the spark plus?

Still use the fuel cleaner this early?

SP's use OEM's from local dealer?
