Hi from Calif 2017 2500

Hi all I have a 2017 2wd 2500 6.4 with 4.10 gears, I am planning on purchasing a new fifth wheel in the coming months and was wanting to know what is some of your experiences with a truck like mine. This will be my second trailer my first was a 2003 24' springdale that I was able to pull with my 2002 Chevy 1500. I'm trying to stay under 10k and not over 11k loaded I'll be avoiding as many severe grades as possible since this is a gas truck. Was wondering if air bags will be needed though I hope not for a TT dry weight under 10k. So also the trailer will be used for work from time to time I have about 6 more years in the building trades before retirement and I have had to travel from time to time and hate motels. Any and all advice is welcome I have browsed this forum for a while and most of the posts are pretty constructive and thought out.

Thanks, well I unfortunately didn't get around to purchasing the fifth wheel I have wanted yet unfortunate events and covid have stalled that for some time but I think I may have an opportunity to get something by the end of this year or early next. Now the really bad news my transmission failed completely needing a complete replacement along with the pump and cooler at only 79k miles I had an extended warranty but it ended at 75k so it just couldn't have turned out any worse I think if I would have started towing a trailer earlier it may have scattered earlier within the warranty mileage.
