I purchased these headlights last year for my 2016. How would I add HIDs if I wanted to do so?

2016 Big Horn - non projector truck. The new headlights have only 1 bulb for high/low beam.

Comes with H1 light bulbs for High / Low beam projector, H13 main harness connector

You would be better off going with led's in that set up.

Here are a couple good cheap options

Hikari led's ~$50 on Amazon
Katana led's ~$40 Amazon

More expensive one's

Headlight revolution supernova v4's $200-250
GTR lighting ultra 2 $250-300

Why would LEDs be better? Easier to install? Or some other reason? I’m just curious why...

Running hid's in reflector housing is hard to get a good beam pattern and is hard to adjust and not blind oncoming traffic.

Led's better mimic the output pattern of halogen bulbs. So it's easier to adjust for proper alignment.

I should have posted a better picture of the headlights...they have a projector.

Gotcha. Hid's will work in those. Led's are still a good option. Here is a screen shot of a video from headlight revolution comparing some hid's to led's in projectors. A great cheap option for hid's is innovative hid's (Amazon $40 for 35w and about $55 for the 55w). Myself and a bunch others are running them with zero issues.

So...if the headlights I bought came with a H1 bulb but a H13 harness....which do I need? Will the HID kit throw codes?

I support the amazon LEDs. I have cougar motorsport in both my headlights and fog lights. Easy set up and bright as hell

ok - i bought the Innovited 55w kit. I've got the driver side powered but tested it before putting the headlight back in...it's flickering when I turn it on and after a bit, it just goes off. Did I order the wrong kit or is there an additional relay that I need?

Try installing the passenger side also. If that doesn't change anything you'll either need some canbus adapters or what is probably going to be a better option is alphaobd. This is going to be more expensive but gives you options to add/enable more.

Alphaobd $50 Google play store
Obdlink mx $70 Amazon

AlphaOBD will let me change the headlights from halogen to HID? I was looking for a good excuse to get it lol.

Yes. You'll be able to enable hid which turns off the pwm (pulse width modulation) which causes the flickering and issues with aftermarket lighting in our trucks. You'll be able to upgrade fogs/park/turn reverse lights to led. Add and enable factory options.b

I installed the passenger light. Sometimes they will both come on, sometimes they flicker, sometimes the passenger side won’t come on, and sometimes neither of them come on [emoji23]

Ive seen a lot of guys installing DDM Tuning HID kits. I noticed their shipped from china. Anybody having any issues with quality? Also how long did they take to get delivered.

No issues at all with mine, in a few more months I'll be running them for 2 years. I did turn off all the headlight flashing on lock/unlock features, i don't use the auto headlight feature either just to keep the ballasts from cycling on and off too much. I dont remember them taking ling to be delivered, maybe a week.

I’ve used DDM in the past in other vehicles without issue but I was not at all happy with their 35W Ultra Canbus Kit on my 2014 with factory projectors. No flicker, but very dim, and very blue for 5500K.

I have a Morimoto HID projector kit on order.

I have a DDM kit I put in a couple months ago. So far so good. They are the 35w 55k, they seem a little brighter than my morimoto kit I had but that could just be me. My only beef was the prongs inside the headlight plug kept pushing back up into the connector they weren't seated very tight. Ended up having to dab a bit of jb weld in where the wires went into the plug to get them to stay put. Other than that though no complaints

I just bought headlight bulbs. I went with Innovited HID for the projectors and Yufana LEDs for the high beams. Looks good and is way brighter. Money well spent.
