i got a 2020 3.6 etorque that does a high idle for an extended amount of time. yesterday it was 19 degrees out and i started the truck and it ran at 1700rpm for 9 minutes before idling down to under 1000. with all the “fuel saving” options it has i find it hard to believe this is normal. i took to the dealer and there was no code so they said it’s fine. any help?

I have 2 Grand Cherokees and a 5th 2019 1500 v6. They all do it. I believe it is a temp issue and won't idle down til a certain temp. My 2 cents worth.

Start vehicle, drive away gently and slowly as soon as all the dash lights are gone. Far and away the easiest and fastest way to warm a motor, transmission, transfer case etc. is under light load. It also wastes far less gas than sitting idling. I have remote start on the truck and Jeep, never ever use it. If you need to hold downhill after start, that is why it has selectable gears.

Yep, my 2017 Ram 1500 w/ pentastar did that. My hemi idles high in cold temps for quite a bit too. Gotta burn fuel to get those catalytic converters hot. LOL
