High Idle No Tune

Hello,

I noticed a couple days ago that my truck is idling in the 1000RPM range. It stays there steady with no surging. I’ve turned the truck off and back on while its warm, it will start at the normal 590RPM or so, then just straight to 1000RPM as if I flicked a switch and it stays there.

What can cause this? Throttle body? Intake leak? The fact that its so steady is throwing me off

Check your intake manifold bolts

This hasn't been talked about for awhile,but check your intake manifold bolts.They call for 108 in-lbs or roughly 9 ft-lbs of torque,and they should be checked at least yearly,as they do loosen up. I've been doing mine at least twice a year on all 3 of of my hemi equipped vehicles.They should be...

This hasn't been talked about for awhile,but check your intake manifold bolts.They call for 108 in-lbs or roughly 9 ft-lbs of torque,and they should be checked at least yearly,as they do loosen up. Take some starting fluid and spray it around the manifold while the trucks running,if it revs up,you could have a cracked manifold/broken manifold.

Gunked up throttle body? TB base gasket? A vacuum line popped off / compromised? Kaput PCV?
