I haven't towed anything yet with my new 2500 6.4. It has a hill decent button next to the 4x4 button. Has anyone used it yet on theirs and if so how did it perform? I haven't done much research yet on it and I'm just curious as to what everyone elses opinion is on it. Thanks in advance on any input.

Is that mainly for off roading? I’d think so, but don’t know for sure. Tow/haul mode should incorporate what you’re thinking of. On my 2014 1500 with hemi and 8 speed that was a function of tow/haul.

I have a tow/haul button also. I just dont know what the hill decent button does. I've pushed it when I'm slowing down at an intersection but it says it's not functionable. I think I have to have my camper hooked up or be towing something for it to be activated, but I could be wrong. I do also have the offroad package so you could right about it being for off roading.

hill descent control only works in 4X4 low if I'm not mistaken. I know a trailer doesn't have to be attached to the truck.

Agree with crash. Pretty damn sure it’s to keep you crawling real slow when off roading.
In my 2018 Tacoma that’s what is does. It has settings for 1-5 mph and keeps it crawling slow up or down hill. Won’t have the taco long, looking to get into an 8 speed 6.4 at some point. Consolidating a f350 and the taco into one ram 2500.

Hill decent only works in 4x4 low below 20mph.
