Did you check to see if you had voltage on the wiring harness connector before you plugged in the hood switch?I just put one on mine, planning to do the remote start. out of the box mine measured 500 ohms. No idea what it will be when closed since I can't get to it lol

Not sure, I checked it after I enabled it and it didn't work to make sure I had a connection to the bcm. There were a lot of comments about the connector not being wired all the way back to the bcm. I saw one where the pin was there but not in the connector and was taped back to the harness. I have a regular cab 2 door and it was complete. No,
would there be a voltage even if I haven't done the programming to activate it?
