I have a 2018 ram ctd drw. It has about 78000 miles. The other day I was driving down the road and the hours driving went to zero on it's own and immediately started counting again. The idle reading did not. Now I have a truck with 78k miles with about 400 hrs idling and about 50 hrs driving showing on the evic.
Anyone else have this happen? Is there a fix (although I have no idea what it should actually read now)?

Yes, happened to my truck too, ‘18 6.4. Drive hours re-set but not the idle. Not sure of a fix.

Ok. Thanks for the response. I don't think it matters other than maybe if I ever try to sell it. Now that I think about it, too bad my mileage didn't zero out. [emoji12]

Were you actually on that screen and saw it when it changed? I don't think I've looked more than twice at that since I've owned the truck. Definitely not something I leave the DIC to when I'm driving. I'm wondering that could have something to do with it resetting?

Mtofell, yes I happened to see it happen. I was switching between my tire pressure screen and my oil, coolant, etc. screen. I do this alot and the hours screen happens to be between the two I actually watch.

That is weird. Now I will have to see if mine has changed . I rarely look at this screen.

There is a decent size thread on this on cumminsforum. From what most believe, it's just a glitch and will keep resetting every time it hits a certain hour

Kind of like the movie "Groundog's Day" for our trucks :)

Mine just did it too, reset drive only. Had 700-800 hours last I looked, idle at still at 70.

Yep. I posted a thread when this happened to my 2017 Ram 1500, QC express 4x4, pentastar a few months ago. Got little/no action with the thread.

Same deal, drive time hours were maybe at 1300-1500 and 160 idle time with ~40-45K on the ODO. Drive time reset to zero at some point. I didn't catch it until I was at maybe 25hrs.

I wonder if the real number is stored in the PCM. Funny how the ODO never resets. LOL
