Truck is still a baby with 2900 miles, I just want to know how much life/miles the stock pads/rotors go?

Reason I ask is because my new job has a TERRIBLE stop and go commute in the morning, it's literally 1 hour of stop and go just to travel 25 miles. I drive roughly 60 miles a day. Here in Arizona we never get rain/snow so no rust issues for the rotors.

My factory ones lasted something like 92k I can’t recall exact mileage. I lived in the Minneapolis area for a couple of years and drove stop and go metro for some of that time. They are very good longevity wise on the Ram.

I pulled my stocks off at 36k and they still had tons of life left . I am not on the brakes much as an ex bicycle racer you learn most times you do not need to touch them as they just rob speed , that said I am also a race mechanic ( bicycle) and drive in caravans of races quite a bit in world tour where touching the brakes is detrimental to proper flow of the race . I bet I could have gotten 50 k out of the pads

It really depends on driving style. I will say the OE pads and rotors last longer than any others I've tried. I'd have to look through my service records, but I wouldn't be surprised if they lasted 50% longer than anything else I've put on a 1500 ram.

Just traded my 13 for a new 17. It had 111k with original brakes. Last time I measured there was still 6mm of front pads left too.

Stock pads and rotors do last longer than most other however there's more to it. Driving style as mentioned is huge but what most people don't know is struts and shocks are the second wear factor ok brakes. Weak ones will wear brakes out quick to to increased weight shifting.

Even though you are stop & go, it doesn't sound like you are moving at a high rate of speed when you put the brakes on. You should get at least 75,000 out of them. Do you ever pull a trailer? This will wear them out faster, even if the trailer has brakes.

My fronts went to sh#t at 30K. My rear are still going good at 64K, but fronts will need doing again in about 5K so I'll probably do both and may replace all four with slotted rotors if I can find at a decent price with pads.

45k on my stock pads. Plenty of life left in them.

My rears wear out way faster than my fronts. I think because of traction control and my heavy foot. I guess it's cheaper than buying tires more often, but way less fun.
