This one is liable to get some mixed reactions, but I'm just seeing who's got what for opinions and why... unless someone has done it and checked, then you'd know for sure.
But anyways, I have a 2011 1500 sport 5.7/ 5spd auto that got a set of shorty headers due to replacing the good ol' warped manifolds and broken studs... but it also got a CAI, clutch fan delete / electric fan swap, one of these ( https://www.amazon.com/Performance-...sprefix=ram+muffler+direct+fit,aps,169&sr=8-6 ) and a Superchips tuner 93 octane tune.

They usually list these trucks as being 390hp depending on the site. First question, is that realistic? Second question, whether the 390 is accurate or not what would be a good ballpark estimate of what it might be at given the above?

My buddy that worked at Big 0 Tires had a 2011 Sport and he was talking about 500 hp but he had long headers, tune and cammed out I believe ... So you could be looking at around 420 hp with just a good tune and shorty headers alone probably closer to 450 hp realistically

Interesting. That was about where I was figuring. I had pinned my estimation at 425+.
Thanks for the input. I'm curious to see what others have to say and what they base it on.

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if you were pushing 450hp honestly ... the tuner can add up to 40hp, the headers maybe 10hp, CAI if it's a good one maybe another 5hp minimum .... the exhaust another 5hp minimum .... that right there is 450hp if everything is working like it should ....

Good info.

Yeah everything running top notch. She's not a roach. In fact I have two new front fenders and a new rear bumper waiting to go on because they got some rust going on and nothing else does. I've driven some rust buckets in my day but this ain't one of em.
I just never stopped to add up what I've done to it with the fan and cai, tuner etc where it landed performance wise.
I'm pretty confident the 425 to more likely 450 area is accurate.
Thanks for the input. If someone's got a different take or something that's definitive like a similar truck that's been dyno'd I'd love to hear that as well.

You all do realize this figure is measured at the crank, out of the truck ,before any parasitic loses. At the wheel it is about 20% less.

Well yes, of course, crank hp not bhp. I wish it was the bhp lol, then it'd be making will over 500 closer to 550.
My bikes figures are 160hp at the crank and 145 at the wheel.

Only thing I was worried about on my 2011 5.7 4x4 545rfe after engine upgrades was trans. I went with the ATS stage 5 that is rated for 800/900 hp. Will see how it does after it’s installed. I blew out the overdrive clutches.

My 2006 Honda GL 1800 HP Gold Wing not accounting for Trike Kit. Top speed governed at 124.9. Pull the governor and it can go 140, but why, LOL. Me thinks 140 mph be right at redline on a 5 speed bike.

Given that the RFE transmission was originally designed around the 4.7 at the end of the 1990s and has really been stretched to its limits to be reliable behind a stock 5.7, don't forget to come back here and call the transmission a "piece of junk" after you boost the horsepower on your engine way past what it was designed to handle.

I could be wrong but I find it very difficult to believe that he gained 100hp just off those listed mods. Procharger bolted on, absolutely.

That is what he claimed not me ... and the cam alone can gain up to 150 HP if it's a stage 2 from what I understand ... What exactly he did I have no clue, but his flex was 500 hp on that hemi ...

I got a Diablo for my wife's car a while back just to correct the speedometer for new gears, the canned tunes make the car worse so we put it all (other than speedo correction) back to stock after trying them out.

But the reason I bring that up is they boast 20 horsepower just from the tuner and I'm certain all of that power comes from just raising the rev limiter a little bit. If your heads and intake can flow enough to keep making torque a few hundred RPM higher, boom higher peak horsepower number.

Doesn't really make the car faster in any material way but look at that number you can point at! :Big Laugh:

Hmmm, a good tune - 30hp, good shorties - 10-15hp (some how kooks claims 25+ with their shorties, i doubt that though), intake/muffler maybe 5hp.

Best case +50hp
