You 100% don't have the wiring for heated/vented seats or power seats. You can purchase a conversion harness at M2mods in the vendor section of the forum. It is plug and play and installs exactly the same as the factory harness. You would also need to purchase the Alfa tool to enable the codes for the heated/vented seats and heated wheel to work. The dealer cannot enable these codes. You can make the power adjust work by running a fused wire from the positive battery post to the solid red wire in both yellow seat connectors if that's all you want to work.

How hard is it to run that fused line? I have never done anything like this before and was hoping it would all be plug and play. But your never too old to learn a new trick or two.

This is a great thread but I am not seeing the fifth gen Ram's (I have a 1500/Big Horn) addressed. I live in MT and tow a 6500 lb travel trailer and found the perfect truck in a 2021 Built to serve with the trailer package and off road package and other items I wanted...but, it doesn't have the heated seats. So, the dealership said.... And I want them as 20 to 40 below have adequately illustrated their value...but I don't want to go down a rat hole or in the wrong direction. I would be more than willing to pay for the MOPAR seats vs after market. Any info on the fifth gens? I have the power driver seat. No heated wheel either.

Not too difficult at all.
-Run you power wire with ring terminal and in-line fuse from the positive battery post back to the firewall. (tuck out of the way/follow OEM wiring harness where possible)
-There are 2 common points of entry into the cab. You can drill a hole into the clutch delete plate. The hole can be sealed with a rubber grommet or silicone. Or you can cut a slit in the rubber grommet of the main OEM wiring harness entering the cab on the driver's side and fish the wire through the boot, sealing with silicone.

-Once the wire is in the cab, I would T the wire in the driver's footwell. The driver seat wire will go down and follow the channel under the driver door sill plate and come up under the driver's seat. The passenger power wire I would route through the dash (under radio, above lower glove box, and drop down in passenger footwell, follow the channel under the passenger door sill plate and come up under the passenger's seat.

Adding Heated/Ventelated seats and Heated Wheel to Express/Tradesman

Do you have a diesel? If so it's a different part number. I ordered 68247648AA. I haven't received it yet to confirm that it works. There seems to be a thousand different configuration of that switch.

Does that have diesel options, trailer brake options / tow options and the heated seat options?

Hey guys, I just installed a set of Laramie seats into my outdoorsman. I had all the right connectors already so the seats just plugged in. The power adjust and courtesy lights under the rear seats work correctly. I also installed the correct hard switches in the dash. When I push the heat button for the seats the lights come on for a second or two then shut off. Nothing happens when I hit the vent button. Does anyone have a suggestion on where to start troubleshooting?

Unfortunately, just because the connectors are there doesn't mean all the wires are. I'd start there. Also, there are options that need to be turned on in the BCM. Have you done that? AlphaOBD is the easiest way to do so.

What year did the Laramie seats come out of??

I just bought my 6th Ram truck!! Done almost 1,000,000 miles on the previous 5 without any major repair ever needed. Regular service and battery replacements only! I currently have a loaded 2019 2500 that I use for long trips and specifically towing my 5th wheel.

I have been trying to research adding a power seat to my brand new 2021 1500 Tradesman. It came with every option available on a Tradesman other than the Rambox and LED bed lighting. I have found both a power plus lumber cloth seat from a 2017, as well as a 2018 Laramie Leather seat with power, lumbar heat and cooling. My concern is will the power and lumbar work with me using an older rather than 2021+ seat in my 2021 1500? Also, will it throw a seatbelt or airbag code if I use an older seat? I realize I would have to add switching for the heat and cooling settings if I use the Laramie seat, which may or may not be complex. I really only would like the heat portion. I have been leaning towards buying the cloth seat and having Katzkin upholster them in leather and they will add heating to them as they do a complete install including the switch and seats. My concern is will the airbag and seatbelt work without throwing some sort of dash code.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!! Jerry
