Why not just ground the pins on the BCM and bypass the hood latch completely? That is how I have done it for the two remote start installs I have done.

Because I don't have the kind of luck that prevents the button from getting hit while working on the engine and I prefer my fingers where they are. :)

You could do like a maintenance switch or something like that?

Good point though I have accidently remote started my truck a few times.

Interesting idea. I've got my new latch laying on the bench at home, and was planning to install this weekend. Let me take a look at this.

Any luck? I'm holding off ordering one or the other until I see your report. :)

Sorry, I failed to get to it this weekend. I have plans to make it happen tonight, but no promises. I will report this evening or tomorrow if I can.

No joy. You could do it, but you'd have to essentially destroy the latches to get the switch off. You'd have to drill a couple of large rivets out to get the latch apart to remove the switch. Easiest to just replace the whole latch assembly.

Wow, it looked like it was just held in by a couple plastic pegs and 1 screw in all the photos.

Thank you for checking it and letting us know!

Those aren’t actually the correct terminals for the BCM, but they “fit”.
Kostal 32124734123000 are the correct terminals- https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/KOSTAL/32124734123000-L?qs=W0yvOO0ixfFjDQ0rJ%2BHBUw==
I am trying to source the BCM pins as well for a taillight install. My question is, there seems to be two different size pins for the BCM. I am trying to pin BCM C6/F pins 27 and 31 (light fault sense wires R+L).

Large BCM terminals for the turn signal circuits (2)- https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Kostal/22140492060050-L?qs=/ha2pyFaduj8oGXoX7vSDezsCEh/TeFPHxy2z8Kh8Nv44XLlKWlO4Q==

Small BCM terminals for those with factory incandescent tails to add light fault circuits (2)- https://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/829-13627884-L?r=829-13627884-L
Do you know if the Kostal 32124734123000 are the "small" pins or the "large" pins? The smaller pins (Aptive 13627884-L) are discontinued and replaced with Aptiv 35072396-L, which also have a huge lead time (July 2022).

Kostal 32124734123000 are the small terminals. If this is for the 2011 in your signature, none of this applies, because you don’t have a BCM. You have a TIPM, which doesn’t even have the light fault sense circuits or rear turn signal circuits.

No, it’s for another truck. Thanks for the part number.

For some reason none of the pictures are showing up for the original post. What pins are 5 & 6 on the pcd connector?

I finally finished activating the Remote start on my 2014 1500 Express today. Works perfectly!

I activated the Remote Start on the existing RF Hub and BCM, I did not replace the RF Hub. My factory RF Hub is a 68213675AF. I had my PIN number already from adding a key a few years ago. (My dealer provided it with no problems).

I replaced the rubber button panels on my existing keyfobs with the ones below from Amazon. They fit perfectly, look great and work better on all the buttons than the originals did. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017MVAO6Y

I replaced the hood latch with the OEM one with the switch. Part # 68159725AB. I could have gotten an aftermarket for half the price, but I wasn't willing to risk it on the part that keeps the hood from popping open going down the highway!

My truck already had the wire from the latch to the Front Body Connector under the TIPM, so I just needed the short harness from there to the BCM from @Mpgrimm2 at M2Mods . The one thing I would do slightly differently if I had to do it again is that I'd spend the extra money and get the longer version of M2Mods harness that runs from the latch directly to the BCM, bypassing the front body connector. (You were right M, getting at that connector past the TIPM is a PAIN!)

Since I didn't replace the hub with one with a seperate antenna, I'm not sure on the range yet, but since I know I can lock/unlock it from inside the house, the range should be plenty.

There've only been a couple of mornings this fall that it's been cold enough to leave frost on the window, so I haven't used mine much, but it's been really nice those couple of times.

Does anyone have any spare pins for the C2 connector? I need one to make a pigtail to ground out pin 11.

Nevermind I found a part number further up and ordered from Mouser.

Thanks

Do you think those will actually ship immediately? I guess I misunderstood since it says It says 'Automotive Connectors NOT AVAILABLE THROUGH MOUSER'. I'll order a few and see what happens. Thanks
