This isnt my first time but a way I finally figured to change a shock eye bushing pretty quick. I had taken almost an entire day to change one one day and ended up with this.
The only reason I'm changing these is because I was a ******* and ordered the wrong ones and the shocks had to be changed that day lol so here I am showing you guys and easy way because I never found a good how to that didn't need to purchase something else. So I'm hoping this will help someone in need of a bushing change or is buying shocks that don't have the right bushings but the right needs.
All the tools I used are in this pic except I also use the shocks own bolt in the process you'll see later on
1 Hammer/ dead blow
2 13/16 sockets
1 5/8 washer (only applies to shock bolt size)
1 Sharp knife
* Bushings
2 ratches (the air ratchet makes it much faster)
1 extension
1 crescent wrench (don't need it but it helps some)
* lube of choice
1 shark (bottle opener lol)
The extension is the easiest I found to take off the top shock bolt with out a fight
First I cut off one end of the bushing being replaced to easily remove it
Now just push it out
This is were the bolt comes In I use the washer as a backing so the bolt won't go through when you tighten it spray some lube or get some grease and make sure the bushing stays aligned with the whole and go slowly at first to insure this then once its in you can speed it up
Then once its in maybe 3/4 or till it won't push in anymore back off and hit it in the rest of the way with the dead blow or softish mallet
And you see the difference in the first one I ordered and this one lol
And your done
