Will a 68332807AJ work in a 2015 RAM?

While it's not a 4th gen ram PN, it is a 4c Panasonic UAq unit with the correct mount. There have been a few people have success with that radio that seems to be more dependent on which " Application Version" it's loaded with. I believe v39.6 is still the latest... And it 'should' accept the same Application SW updates as the ram units.

So far so good. Radio is in and everything looks good, including climate controls and heated seats/wheel. Waiting on the USB hub and need to order a wiring harness later this week. I’ll update once CarPlay is fully enabled.

2017 Ram 1500 Big Horn w/ ATC and heated seats/wheel. Originally a Canadian delivery vehicle. New radio is a 68306656AN (UAQ originally from a Jeep Cherokee). It picked up the vehicle line from the BCM and displayed Ram info automatically.

Question about my old radio. It’s an RA3 VP3 (8” touch no Nav), assumed to be original to the truck. I will probably try to sell it. I didn't find a radio code anywhere in the folder with the manual. Do I just go to the dealer with the radio info, serial, and vehicle Vin to get the radio code?

managed to come into work early today and take my 2015 8.4 out to try out the 2020 8.4 68461704AC

needed to purchase and antitheft code. it cost $11.30 cdn from www.carstereocode.com and it was emailed to me in about 5min. odd thing is that the recycling yard that had it listed said it was a nav unit. the part number tells me it's not a nav unit. when doing the carstereocode lookup I selected non-nav and my part number didn't come up. changed to nav and the part number was listed. weird.

I plugged in the 2 connections that were connected to the old 8.4 and the large main black plug as well as maybe the hub (with the mini usb looking connector) ? there seem to be a few more spots to plug things in and I don't have the plugs lol

obviously it doesn't recognize the hub.

after 10 -15min all of my options started working and appearing accessible on the screen. yay

while driving home from work I found that neither text messages or even an alert is coming through on the radio. phone paired fine and contacts are all there. I have unpaired and re-paired. same results. I did notice there is a check box on the top right corner while on 'phone' screen that says 'reply with text' but I'm unable to check it. it says check bluetooth settings on phone or something to that effect. all bluetooth settings on the phone are good. on the old 2015 8.4 it worked no problem.

There are so many pages to this forum I recently purchased a 2018 RAM 2500 tradesman which already has bluetooth, sirius xm, and backup camera I understand what all i need to change for the 8.4 upgrade.
I assume 68331631AM is the newest Radio with NAV and Carplay. I would like to make sure that i will still retain the function of choosing my trailer profiles and that my factory backup camera will still work and display on this. I plan on doing other upgrades like the cargo camera, homelink, auto dimming/auto darkening mirror. Am i correct in assuming i will return the current functions and it will expand to later features. Sorry if this has been addressed but there are so many pages and i have seen people that seem educated on this matter.

It's been on backorder since November 2021.
