Interesting. Should I be worried that they gave me a unit for a Jeep from Canada? I know it's all the same family more or less, but would I run into any major issues moving forward or should I ask them for a different unit?
It has the same map files as USA models.
Some Canadian units don't want to switch from KM to miles properly in some trucks, via settings menu (usually earlier 13-14's).

Biggest issue may be getting Canadian UCq update files outside of InfoT giving you their own download link. (Most folks here have/share their USA files)

It's up to you what you want to do ultimately.... A brand New Mopar USA UAq is about $1300- $1580 I believe for comparison from forum vendor @AllMoparParts.com

Used ones shouldn't be that expensive but they are !??

RamForum vendor AllMoparParts.com can source them for you also... ~ $1200 - $1600 New

All Mopar Parts << click the link to get to their vendor section and sign up/message them though the forum for possible discounts & get ETA/verify availability. Click their Forum avatar.

2020/21 classic 4th Gen Ram Radio: (USA)

(UAQ 4c Nav) ~ $1300
or 68461703Ax/68528242AC (UAS 4c non-nav) ~ $1145

Hello, I recently upgraded to a UAQ unit that I got from Infotainment, and I'm trying to identify what kind of unit they gave me and if I need to update the software. I'm "thinking" its a Canadian unit but the model number doesn't seem to match what I'm looking up here. What do you guys think? Also, I found a sticker indicating SW: 39.6 UCQ, but the radio itself says 21.14.14, I'm confused.
The Software version is not the file you care about it's the application version. If you read the string, you see "39.6" in it. THAT'S the uConnect Firmware Version.

I bought my 2017 Ram 1500 a couple of months ago. Really wanted Android Auto. After doing research and seeing that the 2018 and newer Rams has Android Auto and Apple CarPlay I decided to do some research on how to add it to my truck. After finding this forum and reading through all 380 plus pages of this thread, I found a used UAQ radio on eBay and bought it.

I added the new radio and the new hub to get Android Auto today and it works great. A big thanks to all of the information posted and to @Mpgrimm2 for having an adapter ready to ship out. His information and help with everything about the radio was excellent. I also updated my application to 40.1 after the install and it works no problem.

Can't wait to take the truck for a drive with the new radio and make sure it has no issues. I'm so glad I found this forum.

Hello
Want to do the Android auto upgrade to UAQ 4C

** My truck is from Canada but now permanently resides in US.

Figured i would ask the Pros!

UAQ 4C Part # 68461699AC - ** was going to purchase

2013 Ram

Just don't want to spend $ and get surprised.

Looks like I will also have to upgrade usb module. Probably to the 200 version.

Everything will work except heated and cooling from the radio.

But the dedicated physical buttons for heated cooling will still work correct?

Will I have heating or ac issues?

Did do my best w this large thread and Google and videos, there is just alot of small details.

Appreciate your help

Original 2013 setup below.

Anyone know if this is a good part for 2013?

Replied to your email/submission.

It is a valid 4th Gen 4c USA UCQ radio PN but there are potential issues to discuss with your 2013 truck. I will look for your reply email.

Here’s a quick way to change or upgrade to a premium usb media hub in a 2019 ram 1500 ram classic (or any ram with a stock media hub that looks like the pic below) with a jump seat. The existing media hub will not work with a 8.4” conversion if you want Apple CarPlay. you Need to upgrade to a premium media hub #68328704AD. i came up with this hack because I didn’t want to take the jump seat all apart to just change the hub since the cutout Is The same for the new media hub.

when you take the trim piece off that surrounds the cup holders you will see there is a hole/cutout to the left of the media hub (see pic). You can use a plastic trim wedge tool to push on the retainer clips and release the top two easily from here but just use another plastic trim tool to shim the retainer out while accessing the 2 bottom retainer clips. This way the retainer clips can’t re-engage once you let go if the hub, because it will go right back in once you let go of it.

with a craftsman right angle screwdriver i was able to access the left lower retainer clip through the same stock cutout and the issue became how to reach the right and final lower retainer clip.

I then used a soldering iron with a cutter tip (see pic) to cut a 2 1/2” x 7/8” hole in the plastic above the media hub (see pics). It will give you the access to get to the final lower right retainer clip with the right angle screwdriver and I was also able to release the electrical connectors on the back of the hub from the hole as well before removing the hub. I wasn’t sure if I would have Enough slack on the harness to pull out the hub and release the connectors. But In my truck I did have the slack to pull the hub out and then release the connectors but I don’t know about other model or years.

the hole in my opinion doesn’t jeopardize the structural integrity of the jumpseat or the armrest and will be covered up by the trim piece that surrounds the cup holders that was taken off in the beginning of the process. The cutout piece could be plastic welded back on but I didn’t think it was necessary and the cutout will be accessible for any future issues or upgrades if needed.

all in all it takes about 20 mins and nothing done here will be visible when finish trim is installed (see pics)

RAM 1500 2017 -> 2019 USB conversion plate

Finally finished my retrofit to my 2017 RAM. And i thought i would share my 3d printed face plate for a 2019 RAM USB hub to fit into the 2017 RAM usb spot, without cutting or modifying. My install wasnt great, as there are some gaps at the bottom, but it looks much better then it did.
