I am looking at adding 4" stacks to my 03 Ram . Going back in with the factory muffler and all . But considering an extra resonator behind the muffler to help quieten the drone zone of highway cruising sounds.. Any thoughts ?

I am going to use 4x 3/16 tubing and 4 x 1/4 pipe for the exhaust framing in the bed of the truck. A few people have suggested using baffling to control the sound. I have heard of using steel wool type material as a blocker but. I know that will produce higher frequency sounds that are undesirable. I am not against a humble rumble but in no manner do I want a screaming exhaust while I am cruising down the road.I have spent 9 months on the engine alone. Here is a picture of the main frame in the bed . None of this is welded so nothing is permanent. I have other things that will be added .in bed lighting ( soft glow l.e.d type ) . I want lighting that will give a soft contrast at night but I don't want it visible from across town ...

I'm still laughing .. In no manner do I expect it to be silent . I just want to be able to tell my wife " I Love You " without being forced to scream at her...

I'm just hopeful it is able to stand alone and control the 4 inch outlets... But as I mentioned in the beginning .my primary concern is the drone zone of cruising speeds.. The only way I know to get total silence from an exhaust pipe .is the shut off the engine...lol

I hope you considered some way to get the water out when parking in the rain for a few hours.

I am considering a ball valve in the corner of the.( hahaha) P trap pipe .. The elbow pipe is relatively inexpensive. I am working on fabricating an elbow with a 1.5 inch drop , about 3 inches in front of the beginning of the elbow. A light gauge cable strategically routed would allow full operation of the valve from a single stand point beside the truck. I work 6 days a week .(Basscat Boats) Trailer dept.So my personal time is very limited... This truck has a new motor transmission transfer case drive shafts (front and rear) axles both front and rear. Radiator and all of the engine accessories are new. Body work and paint will be coming in the near future...This is the planned paint job for the finished product
