Got one more question, here are the part numbers I have found, I have not found the correct one that runs from the A-Pillar to the back of the radio. Can anyone help with that number? If I purchase these three items will that cover everything? Thanks for any help in advance.

Shark Fin antenna

Wire harness (I believe it’s the one that runs from the antenna across the roof to the A-Pillar)

With different locations for the antenna on some trucks. There are different PN. I would have to say your best bet would be to ask Benny at all mopar parts to look it up for you. Find a truck online with the options you want and send him the vin. My antenna location is driver side back side location and this is what he sent me.

Ok so I went ahead and got the antenna, headliner wiring harness, and the connecting wiring harness that goes to the radio. I now have a 3g symbol on the radio, however I still get a error message....I found an empty plug on the back of the radio, can anyone point me in the correct direction to get this plug figured out? Here are a couple pictures, one of the empty plug and one of the error message, and one showing the 3g.

GPS sensor plug.

Looks like you are using a 13-17 (2015?) radio in your 2018 truck correct? ... You may not be able to get rid of that message without going to a 2018 radio.

There's a thread around here somewhere, with someone that did the same thing... Installed the 17/18 mirror with buttons and it still didn't go away. Last thing left was to try the 18 GPS module & cable that mounts behind the radio. Also some debate in the thread about whether a 17 radio would work better since it doesn't have a separate GPS antenna connector.

Edit: @WileECoyote did it...
Spare post 16

While it's not recommended to install a 13-17 RAx radio in a 2018 or 19 classic it can be done with the correct parts but you 'CURRENTLY' can't get rid of Cellular System needs service error message at startup (unless using a 2018 UAx radio).

Well damn, yeah I’m not 100% sure on the year of the radio, I got it from 4th gen Ram electronics but guessing that is correct. I added the module on the passenger side (black box under the dash, behind the glovebox) the gps works great along with most of the other features I just get this message. I truly don’t want to spend a ton to make it right.....and still have issues...may just look at upgrading to a aftermarket radio [emoji2959]

Press
Temp Up + Temp Down + Front Defrost for 6-10 secs to get into dealer menu... Radio Info and get the PN that way. Should be something like 6825xxxxAx. Can id the radio year that way.

You can go aftermarket, but you will need an idatalink Maestro setup and compatible radio to retain factory settings... or an 18 UAx radio would be simplest option if you can get one/exchange it.

I would call Joel at 4th Gen and explain the problem and see if they will swap you into an '18 radio.

That’s an option? Dang! Ok I’ll hit him up and see if he can help out.

Ah sorry I was thinking of Infotainment, not 4th Gen. Not sure what 4th Gen can/will do, but still worth calling to see if any options.

It should be, you paid a premium price buying the radio and related bits from 4th gen and part of that deal is supporting you after the sale with warranty and support. Assuming you bought it recently I would definitely expect them to get you into the correct radio.

Yeah, I’ve had it for about 3 weeks now. The radio itself works but I don’t have the CarPlay like I thought it would and the whole antenna thing is annoying.

I edited above, was thinking of Infotainment, not 4th Gen. Still, it would be worth contacting 4th Gen and explaining issue and see what they say.

Does anyone who has performed this antenna swap have their old puck antenna they'd be willing to part with?

Let me check to see if it’s still in the box. You pay shipping and it’s yours...merry Christmas? Lol (I’ll check the shop tomorrow)

No worries, I have another one lined up with a slightly different part number if you can't find it. Just let me know at your leisure, I appreciate the assist!
