Hey all,

Has anyone run quality hub-centric spacers (ie: BORA, Spidertraxx) on the stock PW wheels to fit 37s?

I know for aftermarket wheels +18 to +25 offset is ideal to fit 37s. If I went that route I'd likely going with AEVs, Methods, or Racline wheels with those specs.

However, I currently have the 2016 Stock PW wheels, which are forged and very well made -- I'd love to keep them and thought that a high-quality spacer might be a way to do it and reduce rubbing.

Have any of you done it? What size spacer would you recommend to end up with stock wheels positioned similarly to an aftermarket +18 offset wheel?

edit: @IRSmart if I recall you have some experience / insight in this area?

You can. But tq em correctly and remember they’re now maintenance items and you’ll be fine. My buddy runs bora and has had no issues. Jumps and beats on his truck. Gotta remove any clips on the studs also.

I got spidertrax on the Wifes Jeep and never had an issue.

Wheel spacers just dont fall off...lol. I retorque mine every time I do a tire rotation.

Gotta wonder as to why wheel spacers aren't used on commercial jet landing gear wheels.

if you used Loctite then retorquing them is not really doing anything as your not getting a proper torque value..

I wouldnt use spacers, id pony up for wheels instead.

Two things i wouldnt use are wheel spacers and the pucks for lifting the front end. Absolutely nothing wrong with doing it right instead of saving a few bucks.

Thanks for the input everyone!

Sounds like if the stock wheels are +57mm offset then I'd probably want to go with the ~1.5in (38mm) BORA spacers? Unless I am doing some stupid maths there..

As a few have pointed out, quality spacers are not cheap (~$130 per) so I might just spend the extra $$$ and get some +18mm Method wheels. Wasn't really about the money though, I actually like the oem chrome 16' PW wheels on my 2017 rig. Black Methods would make for a mean blacked out beast though. If I do end up going with the spacers I'll update the thread here with photos / impressions.

I probably will. I have a Land Cruiser I use as the primary family rig, but occasionally I do load up the Power Wagon with the family... so even though I think a quality setup like the BORA would be reasonably reliable (I had zero issues in the past with Jeeps in Moab, but that isn't an HD truck..) -- for the sake of reducing complexity and prioritizing safety I'm leaning toward new wheels. I'll add a photo to the running PW pictures thread regardless which route I take.

I put high quality 1.5" on my 2014 Ram 1500 and run 37's. As long as you don't buy cheap cast or pressed ones you will be fine.Rambo with front bumper.jpeg
