I drove an electric car over 3,000 miles in three months. It tested my sanity.

They need charging stations along the interstates, especially for natural emergencies, and when power is out, you're screwed. You can't just walk to go get a bucket of electricity.
Didn't this ******** President we have earmark gazillions of dollars to do just that? And.....I don't see any.

If the government dimwits would put charging stations in the interstate rest stops, on the back lot where no one ever parks now, they could solve this problem since many of these stops have 24/7 security to watch for the copper thieves methin' around with them.

Florida is Evacuating
Families must be drawing straws to see which family member will stay & guard the Home.

I'm thinking that they will not tell about all EVs that are being pushed off the highways.

People in Tampa are telling the news people, about how long it took to travel North small distances

I'm thinking there won't be many EVs pushed off the road. Temperatures are warm, slow speed/stop and go helps extend EV range, and even the lowest range EV can get out of the evacuation zone without much worry.

Anyone who stays to "guard the home" in the mandatory evacuation zone is a moron.

Guard the home against what? Looters can be an issue but they're more likely to hit stores than individual homes. Are your TV's worth risking your life to protect when in the end they could be destroyed by the storm anyway?

Correct. Most people who evacuate only need to go tens of miles to get out of the danger zone.

Remember 'shovel ready' jobs and all the cash for repairing our infrastructure? No idea where the money went and no one asks.

And how about our money given to Ukraine, is there any accountability of where it has gone or anyone asking? Here's a small tid-bit for all those who feel great that their money is being used to keep the Ukraine government operating each month...your tax money is being used to fund retired Ukraine government workers.

The reason we have not seen any big changes in the charging infrastructure is because they have probably already stole it.or used it elsewhere and no one is asking where it went.

The most shortages in the state were seen in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area with around 43.06% of those gas stations without fuel, GasBuddy reported Tuesday. The Fort Myers/Naples area had 27.79%, and Gainesville 24.71%, of stations out of fuel.

If EVs are on the side of the road, it'll be for the same reason ICE vehicles are. People who don't plan ahead of time.

I'm glad that you live in the perfect society

I work Homicide, I'm under no delusion it's a perfect society and nobody has claimed it is.

Only a moron risks their life to a natural disaster because they think someone is walking down the sidewalk checking door handles during the same natural disaster.

At the mere cost of $3.1 million USD in tax money each. What a bargain for Californians as a whole, especially the 12k of you who bought a hydrogen powered vehicle.

I would think, that many of the Hydrogen vehicles here & the
TrueZero Hydrogen Fueling Stations
are some how connected to Educational Funds, sort of a test project

EDIT:

What i meant to state, was that i believe the TRUEZERO stations, are helped along by Educational Grants, not Funds.
I just could not think of the proper wording earlier.

Within the rules of the forum, best I can say is the only test is how much money they can put in the pockets of whoever's convincing them to take it out of yours until you object. They've known it was a flop for years but keep shoveling money at it.

The energy commission staff has warned lawmakers that there won’t be enough hydrogen cars on the roads to use new stations already allocated state funds. Stations will triple by 2027 — resulting in four times more than the amount needed to support even the “vehicle manufacturers’ best-case expected volume,” the commission said. They also warned that they haven’t received enough bids from hydrogen station developers to spend all the money the Legislature already has allocated.

I personally profit, though. Burn all the natural gas...err clean hydrogen... you can to keep my dividends up.

You should sell your ecodiesel and buy one of they hydrogen cars on the market. You have your choice of, well, only 2 at this point. Oh, and hydrogen prices are currently equivalent to paying over $14 a gallon for gasoline. And of course, you can't drive it out of CA (or even in most of CA) as there's no fuel stations.

Hydrogen remains the fuel that makes EVs look sensible.

Ya, Donut Media did a good video of what it's like trying to live with one of these. Even in Kalifornia, it was still quite difficult.

Back to the electric car topic.

I thought this was interesting information about the different types of Lithium batteries and how to charge them if longevity is to be considered.

LFP & NMC batteries require a very different charging profile, it sounds like vendors are confused or purposely hiding the facts.
