I Hate Uconnect!!!

How do you have a paid feature like text messaging without uconnect?

I have it as well. my truck never had uconnect. I added the 8.4 radio with nav and bezel from infotronics oem and they work great.

while i had the free year of unconnect access it worked great with an adroid phone, but never worked even a 1/4 percent right with an iphone.

If the service wasn't so expensive I would pay for it again. The voice text is the biggest thing, but remote start with my phone and send and go for the navigation were nice features also.

for a while I had the "no data" message pop up also and after a call to uconnect they had me do a reset of the radio and stayed on the phone with me to make sure that worked which it did. I would think a no data connection is an issue on the radio side, not your phone.

This is pretty much where I was at with it. It generally worked with my
Android and was an okay service. I'd maybe pay $50 a year at the very most. $15/mo or whatever it costs is just ridiculous. I can take or leave the text thing but I did like being able to fire up my truck from my phone. For that kind of money I'll **** my lazy butt to the garage and hit the fob a couple times.

I just discovered my month old truck can do voice to text messaging and was using it quite a bit last night and really enjoying it. I had no idea it was part of a service subscription; that's a very disappointing realization. What's the yearly rate? Do they offer promotions?

The Connect voice recognition is TERRIBLE!! It never understands and has an error. I can never navigate to or find anything via voice.

$149 a year. Only promotion I've ever seen was a free month once

Well what do you know? I checked my email today and Uconnect set me up with a one month trial period

I have a 2016 with the 8.4 stereo and Siri pops up when I hit the VR button. I just say sent a text message to ***. Siri asks what I want to say and I say it. Then Siri repeats the message to me and asks if I want to send it...I say yes and away it goes. If I get an incoming text message it pops up on the screen and there is a button labeled listen...if I hit the listen button it reads the message to me. Work perfect about 98% of the time. I don't have any paid service with u Connect.

Sorry for a question on an old thread, but can you unlock the truck without uconnect or a FOB?

I specifically asked, when I bought the truck, why it did not have a keypad on the door, like Ford, and they told me I could use the phone.

They never said I had to PAY to use it.

only way to use the phone like you stated is to pay for the sirus guardian (which is far from cheap)

As I have said in the past, mine works fine and with all the features, it is sure worth the price. The voice qualify is gar better than my wife's Mercedes.
