That doesn't include whats been spent behind the engine on the 8HP90 /driveshaft and the chassis,i'd hazard a guess there's probably at least another $12,000 or more spent behind the engine.

I used to go to the County Fairs to watch Draft Horses Pull & Lumber Jacks showing off their skills

My Uncle use to take one of his tweaked farm tractors to the Pulls, he did quite well

But when a Semi Truck is able to turn the zero to 60 times & the times they do in a 1/4 mile & the weight of the cab, it is surprising.
( At the semi drags they don't pull a trailer )

Just the Opposite.
I enjoy Formula and Indy but love no kind of racing, better, than one guy, one car, one run, 1/8th or 1/4 Mile.
NO Handling, No Suspension, Just pure power and how fast can you go.

All those Corporate Vehicles, with their insane budgets, are fun to watch but, for me, it's the Hobbyist, working out of his house, who does it for love and fun, that I enjoy more. Don't care if he ain't as fast, he's more fun to watch.

Really enjoy those engines that have been built for maximum performance but also maximum durability.
The ones that can Race, all day, every weekend and never blow up.

Again, this is just my Preference.

When i moved to Indio, California in 1970, ( that is where the Coachella Music Festival is currently held ).

Just south of there, there was an old air field on a ranchers property.
He let people drag race on that strip on some weekends, i worked for the State of California Highway Dept. i used to borrow the traffic cones from the warehouse, so we could have delineators. someone else had a set of lights.

A lot of the locals would bring their hot rods out
There were some Out of Towners, that came out too, they wore regular street clothes, there were no markings on their trucks, trailers or racing equipment.

Everyone that i knew just guessed, but we all thought that they were the Pros coming down to Tune in their vehicles.

Those days were fun, back up your pickup & put your chairs in the bed & watch the racing, there were no bleachers
