Thanks Goose, but my question was for TotallyHucked.

Totally Hucked's $280 tonneau cover is vinyl. He produced a pic of it if you page down. His is easily cut through with a butter knife.

Is it aluminum? Does it lock? Can you cut through it with a razor knife? I have a tool box, a generator, and a number of other items stored in my bed I don't want walking off. This is what I'm putting on my 2500:

Cool story bro. Like Goose said, if you'd read through the thread, you'd see mine. It's a vinyl tri-fold. I have no need for one of those expensive ones but the point has been made. If you need it, $1900 is cheaper than replacing expensive equipment, I get it.

Agreed, if you park in the sun, the Vinyl does deteriorate slightly.

I had a Roll N Lock on my Tundra for 14 years and it still looked good with next to zero maintenance. It did come with a kit that contained a uV protectant, I never used it.

I did only park outside for the first couple of years, then moved and gained a small barn as a garage.
As seen in my avatar.

.
Vinyl deteriorating ... I used this - brought back to life

No. Yinyl will deteriorate, and rapidly. It's just fabric. A tonneua cover made with it is money down the drain.

I've had mine since 2016 - looks great. And I paid $200.

I looked around a lot and found this Pace Edwards Full-Metal Jackrabbit is about as good a value as you'll find anywhere, bought directly from the factory in WA State. For my long box 3500 Laramie Dually only $1,896, with no sales tax and free shipping! And, as you can see, the slats are constructed of powder coated heavy duty extruded aluminum. Gloss or Matte black. The cover will support 400 pounds distributed evenly.

I had the Pace Edwards retractable tonneau cover installed on my 2003 2500 when I bought it brand new. Worked like a charm for 14 years through summers of 100+ degrees, winters with hundreds of inches of snow, and very regular usage of rolling. I bout a $400 tri-fold hard top one when the rolling mechanism finally gave up. Just haven't got around to getting a newer cover, now have tri-fold on my 2018 2500 I bought new in '19. I think the money paid for the PE is well worth it. For the life expectancy, can't beat it.

You have hundreds of inches of snow in Maryland?
