I understand what your saying since you pull trailers for a living and are probably heavy loaded. But depending on what kind of travel trailer you have you don't need all that extra bs. The automatics now days are much better than a standard the new stock Ram diesels have more than enough power and if this guy is only going to pull a travel trailer a few times a year he should stick with the 6.4 Hemi gas. Diesels are too expensive on maintenance and cost around 10-k up front when buying a new truck, you can sure get a lot of nice upgrades for the 10-k. The only ones that really need a diesel are the people that actually work them for a living. That is the only time they are actually better than gas engines, they are a waste of money to just ride around in so you can look pretty .

got a left over new 2018 2500 this spring with 8 miles on odo with a $15,500 discount
if one shops well you too can have a 6.7 for ram 1500 money

I have a 2015 1500 Laramie. I would get a 2500 diesel crew cab 8 foot bed. The reason I didn't is because I don't tow anything heavy and the 1500 rides better. The Laramie has more than enough for options for me.

I did a lot of homework before I bought a Ram. Came out of a GMC 2500 HD Sierra. This is like my 4th 2500 so I already knew what "features" I wanted. Got the Laramie package and ended up in a Mega Cab...didn't know I wanted it (mega cab) at the time. So glad I decided to buy it. While I don't ride back there, everyone else loves it, when the seats are folded down the space is massive. My only dislike to the truck are the funky mirrors and longer turning radius. I say all that to say this...if I was going to upgrade...I would have gotten a sunroof. I think I have just about everything else.

Only upgrade for me would be a new 1500 mega cab. That I could lower. Hate how high my 17 sits.

I'm going to wait and see how the new 7.3 gas motor in the F250's does.

With all the gov BS on new diesels, the looks of the 5th gen rams, and Chevy's continued garbage interiors my options are pretty limited.

My uncle just bought a loaded (leather etc...) 2020 Chevy 2500 Z71 crew cab with the new gas 6.6 for right under 40 it veery nice and the exhaust note of that 6.6 is similar to a pre19 sport exhaust, sounds perfect
