Hey guys just wanted to show off what I made for my 2022 big horn’s grille. I got tired looking for illuminated emblems for our trucks ….. I’ve been looking awhile since I noticed the Mercedes emblem lit up at night. The one company I did find were out of stock and they were like 400 dollars. Plus I only wanted the outline of the letters illuminated. So I went crazy into my cad system and made pieces to fit behind the letters and used el wire to light them up. What do you guys think? I just finished tonight I’ll put them on sometime tomorrow.

Please keep us updated on the process/progress. You may have some customers in line provided you have an install/wiring directions, me being one.
Good work, looking forward to more info.

Okay so I have an idea on how to get this to work, but it may involve drilling a 3/32 hole in the emblem backings to fish the wire through due to me not wanting to take the whole damn grille off. The hole wouldn’t be noticeable after assembly. I’m going to go outside and take some pictures of the process. If I get it done before I go into work at 3 I’ll make sure to take pictures of it at 11 after I punch out

Okay the R is complete working on the A lol…… what’s the least evasive way of connecting the hot wire to function with the headlights? To the fuse panel?

Interested in buying one. I have an aftermarket front end on my 2500. It’s the Fab Four grumper. I’d like to replace the Fab Four emblem with an illuminated Ram. Let me know

That is neat. I would love to have an emblem under my Night Edition which reads Cummins to have another one just below it in the same design that reads High Output. Good luck with working out all the complexities. That would be a very popular accessory I imagine.

I'm no electrician (especially automotive)...but yeah, I would think to the fuse panel for the headlights, or maybe tap into the wiring for the headlights themselves...then it would come on automatically when the lights came on.

Little update kind of ran out of time before work today so obviously 3rd picture has everything on the truck with the extra wire wrapped around the letters cause I didnt have the time to run them to power. Before I commit to making any of these for people who are interested, I'd like to see how these hold up after a month. I dont want to be making total crap for you guys. I also would like to attempt the flexible filament (TPU) to make the letter outlines with. I think over time the filament I used will get brittle and crack where TPU is very strong, flexible, and is almost impossible to tear or rip unless using something like a knife to slice it with. I also have to complain to the seller on amazon for the EL wire. I ordered white and this appears blue.

I'm at work so if I have time, I'll explore some options of hooking this up to the fuse box. I think I want to stay away from splicing into factory wiring.

Can you do them in red? If so, I want!
Be careful using red: AL Title 32: "(2) No person shall drive or move any vehicle or equipment upon any highway with any lamp or device thereon displaying a red light visible from directly in front of the center thereof. This section shall not apply to authorized emergency vehicles."
