The wire only utilizes 3v, it gets connected to an inverter that can be connected to 12v. I'll be fuse tapping #44 under the hood fuse box for the trailer camera. It will be powered on only when the truck is on which is fine I suppose. The light is not noticeable during the day anyways. The other option was the trailer lights, but that fuse is a cartridge fuse which I can't do a nice tap into. I'd have to do some okie doke shove the hot wire in there with. The only positive with going that way is that it would get powered on when the headlights come on. I dont know if being on all the time with the truck on will prematurely burn the light out or not. Ill go with wiring it into the trailer camera for now and test it the other way if I choose to do so. Tomorrow or after the holiday it should be all hooked up. Fishing the wire towards the fuse box should be a hoot!
