Post#9 of this thread. Version 18.45.01for the RA3

My mistake. It was on post 3, page 1 of the 22 page rollup thread in the electronics forum.

    https://www.ramforum.com/threads/ro...17-ra3-vp3-na-ra4-vp4-na.150150/#post-2121633

To be honest, these threads have got so big and messy that i start getting a migraine trying to hunt through them.

I think they are so large because folks often provide an answer and repeat information already posted. Not necessarily a bad thing (in fact I like it) but it does lead to large threads...

Look at it this way, the large threads have lots of answers (at least on this forum).

Yea. Its only a problem when im trying to help someone whos not very computer literate.

I have a couple step-by-step instructionals going on. Its been interesting, navigating back and forth between the threads, copying and posting links for different software versions and different model trucks.

To someone from the carburetor and ignition points era, this computer stuff may as well be written in Klingon.

    LOL!

I mean technically you are a big part of the problem then (and I'm sure it's appreciated)!

We started our own threads for the step-by-steps, so as to not add to this one. I only posted links to the downloads. I was hoping to not contribute to this thread becoming a 900 page behemoth.

No luck for mine, Tries to go to media and says cannot read usb or something similar to that lol. What version did you upgrade from? Not that it matters as I haven't found any of them for this one and UConnect's site says mine (with 14.05.3) is current.

If it cant read the file, you probably have something going on with your usb drive or the way the files are saved to it.

There should be 6 files onbthe usb drive. Not in any folders, and there should be no additional folders. Ill post back with a pic in a minute.

The files should be extracted from the .zip file, and then saved on the drive like this:

But, if your already running 14.05, i dont think id bother changing it.

It's only giving me 5 files from the zip missing the last one ( swdlLog ). I'm guessing maybe I need to be at 17.something before it will read it? Wouldn't 17.0 or 18.0 be better than 14.05 ?

Yes you will want to go to a 17.x version first.

    17.11.07 or 17.43.01.

Do you have a radio that came from the factory with navigation (RA4) or one that you paid for a code to activate navigation (RA3)?

BTW the 6th file is the log generated during update, so you wont have it on your USB after extracting the update zip.

For now concentrate on getting to a 17.x version, if we know what radio you have we can point you at the correct file.
