Just buy new for that price
Not sure how much a new Tradesman Cummins is but my son recently bought a Night Edition for $68,000. They would not budge on that price. Guessing you could fins a brand new Tradesman for maybe $55,000-60,000?

One thing that you need to look for when buying used vehicles in States along the US/Canadian Border
From reading posts on this forum, it seems Canadian dealerships are dumping USED Rams that were made for use in Canada.
I guess it really does not matter, as long as Warranties are not involved
That the EVIC reads out in Metric measurements, etc.

I live in Canada and travel to the States to visit my in-laws .. You can change the readings from metric to U.S. ..

5.9 Cummins
I’ve been checking fir the last 2 years and prices are insane. I’m going to sell my existing 2006 Cummins Laramie 2500 long bed with absolutely everything including a 5k after market kenwood sound system and nav With 141,000 miles and I should get close to 30k. Maybe it’s the shortage or the fact that it’s the 5.9. Doesn’t matter. I’ll get at least 28k.

If you call Renae at Mark Dodge in Louisiana she gives 5% under invoice no haggling. That means you could get a new tradesman diesel for 50k.

You could PM me for her contact info.

I think you can do better down South. If you lived in CA I'd say otherwise.

Just for comparison, not saying it was a good deal, I saw a 2014 Tradesman with 155k on the lot locally and they were asking $55k. Central CA coast with a lot of cattle ranchers and short on trucks so they may have gotten $50k for it.

On the same lot was the truck in my profile with 29,000 miles for $50k and I was able to swing it for $39k. I purchased it in June. KBB was $45k. Since then I have added a lift pump, exhaust brake and upgraded steering and feel the investment worthwhile for a non- EGR 5.9 in great shape. So I have some $$ in it and would do it again with this truck.

More comparison, on the same lot used trucks have gone up about $5k across the board due to shortage.

More comparison, a nearby owner of a 2014 2500 with 140k just put $12k in repairs. $4k out of pocket for EGR valve and other work, and approximately $6k in transmission that was part of drive train extended warranty from the same dealership. My wife works there so I get these type of comparisons from time to time.

Used or new these are expensive investments with expensive upkeep. Try to get all upkeep records to see the truck's history.

Happy hunting!
Well a 5.9 does have an egr system, just not a typical one. And deleting it will pretty much do nothing unless your building for power. Its built into the cam itself. Changes valve open and close rate.
the 04.5, 5.9 onward is more friendly to modifications because they only have the Catalytic converter and the camshaft is designed to where it functions as an egr system without the actual need to recirculate any exhaust back through the motor. It was only added to make feds happy.

there is NO TRUCK on this Earth worth anywhere near these sort of prices. NONE. I don't care if you pick it up as they drive it off the assembly line right from the factory!!!

I agree with @MADDOG that's no deal in my opinion. Search on CarGurus for similar trucks (year and mileage) and check out the prices.

.... At the end of the day it's a tradesman with very few options.

Here is are some examples..

Prices are nuts. But you also posted 2500s and op is looking at a 3500 dually. Little different there guy lol.

Those trucks are worth whatever the perspective buyer is willing to pay.

$50K isn't all that much money if you've got more than $50K.

Buying new vehicles is so much fun. I wish I needed a new one.

Thing about a Tradesman is that with less options there is less to potentially go wrong and need fixing which could make the more provisioned truck a worse deal long term

I paid $49k for a 2018 Laramie with 30k miles on it. Mine is gas, not diesel, so pricing is a tad different. I didn't want diesel. Can't justify the cost of purchase let alone maintenance. BTW, the picture isn't the current picture. Need to change that.
