I have been lurking the forums trying to find any information to help me narrow down the ONLY issue I have left with my install. But a brief backstory:

I had the 8.4" Connect 3 VP4 radio stock in my truck, It has the auto dual climate system already in the truck. I came across a killer deal for a UBD Radio ($60) so I figured id give it a try. I got the radio, and a harness to do the fit and everything is working fine with the radio, all functions are working BUT when I attempt to change the climate temperature settings all they say is hi or lo on the radio. I have noticed that the temperature does change when I use the buttons but the temperature value does not show on the display, and the slider just goes from low to high. I read on a jeep forum that if you change the units on the radio to metric people have gotten values to show on the radio. I tried that and lo and behold the radio does show me temperature in celsius now but I want it in imperial. The radio was out of a US built truck so Im kind of at a loss as to how to resolve this issue. I did reach out to infotainment under the guise I was helping a friend and they stated that they could send out a genie max to fix the issue but I have alfaobd as well as Appcar diagfcu which I have been using on vehicles in the past.

My question is does anyone have any input on this issue? I installed the radio on Saturday and it's been working I just have this one issue I would like to investigate and fix.

I appreciate any input from anyone regarding this as Im not finding much help and I don't want to have to buy something to fix this if I don't have to.

How long has the radio been installed? It's not uncommon for the HVAC controls to be wrong for several power cycles until it gets a proper read of your vehicle settings in the BCM.

I installed it Saturday but I’ve been impatient and tried things recommended on some forum posts to see if things changed. I’ll just be a bit more patient and wait a few days for things to settle.

Do you have a part number of the radio you installed? THe Hi/LO is the default state of the radio, but if it is not fully compatible with your vehicle, it may remain that way. You mentioned a "UBD" radio (I'm not familiar with this model), do you have the original sale listing link?

The Model number of the radio is 68453843ag, it's out of a 2022 Ram 2500. This is the same radio that Infotainment is selling as a kit for 4th and 5th gen Rams. As I say everything works great except for the Hi/Lo thing with the climate control. If I change the units from US to Metric in the radio then the temperature shows up for the hvac controls, but its in celsius, as well as when I do the units change in the radio it changes everything in my EVIC over to metric as well.

I did reach out to Infotainment (who says they have this bug fixed) and of course they said they fix the bug with a Genie Max device which they would not even offer me. So this makes me think it could be a bcm setting that could need to be changed. They also stated on a YouTube video that some 2016 -2018 rams with this upgrade do not have the bug. Just some more information if anyone is curious
