guys im looking to replace the stupid clutch fan in my 18 5.7 ram, so i was looking at the 2019 ram electric fan and it looks like a better option than a V6 fan.. has anyone done this yet is it a simple plug n play??
Thanks

I'm curious, too...you planning on completing the deal with a 180-degree thermostat and reprogramming or simply want to reduce parasitic drag on the engine?

Yeh sux in 2018 dodge still using a clutch fan lol. Im doing it for the extra 20hp the better gas mileage
and the colder AC... Installed the 180 few weeks ago i just got my smart access cable from hptuners.. i should be getting an extra pcm next week so was wanting to do this fan or the V6 one if i have to

Would love to see a before and after dyno with 20hp to run a fan.

There‘s a 5.7 charger on YouTube that did a 392 intake/bbtb/fan delete and didn’t help.

Putting the Gen5 electric fan on a Gen4 truck might be an uphill battle for a speed signal to run the fan. The Gen5 electric fan is the same 850 watt PWM fan that the EcoDiesel uses. Aside from the 100 amp 12V circuit that is needed, the PWM start/stop/speed signal that is ran from the ECM will be the probably be the stopper on using the fan.

ok that sounds complicated so our only option is a V6 fan ? Anything more powerful out there ?

392 intake with out a cam and tune will kill the low end

He’s dyno’d a few times throughout his build, had Shorty headers and a JG tune as well.

FCA has different top end/tunes in the 14+ trucks vs 5.7 cars, IMO.
