I wanted to see if anyone else has installed after market subs. Did you use LOCs or just an amp? Also did you use a custom box? Where did you put it? And how did the sound come out.
I’m looking to put an 8” or a 10” klimek audio w3 under the rear seats.

I used two loc2 into two pre amps and then to my amps. I've got three subs and two pre amps going to three 1500w mono amps.
Im running a mixed system as i kinda like having different ranges, so I have an 8 inch alpine type r in the stock enclosure, a custom enclosure on the driver side with a dB drive wdx8 and a 12 inch Sony I got for free between the concole and the back seat. I'll probly be upgrading the alpine and the Sony though. The alpine is kind of disappointing wouldn't buy again.

I wanted to control each amp individually and phase out any whitenoise issues I may have had using the loc. Basically a filter and allows me. To adjust bass boost and all that for fine tuning. Its overkill lol

I went in to my local car stereo shop to buy a single JL audio stealth box which my guy was willing to sell me but instead had me listen to 2 JL Audio 10 inch subs and man what a difference, ended up going this route along with a Arc Audio Amp with custom non ported box under the rear seat and man does my stereo sing.

I started off with a small single 10” box on the floor behind my driver seat, amp under the driver side rear passenger seat, that worked well for a little while but then it was starting to get in the way having 3 kids back there and getting older.
I then swapped to a single 1500w 10” Boss sub in an Amazon bbox which sits under the passenger side rear seat. I am using a 200w MTX amp with the speaker wired so that I get the amp powering it at max available power, and wow what a difference! Great bass, loud when I can really crank it (no kids in truck lol) and it’s completely hidden out of sight.

I used low inputs tapped into the rear door speakers, and remote power signal coming from the rear left side window, so I can hit the window kill switch on my driver side door controls and it will instantly cut the sub and amp out.

Over all very pleased with the sound and fit, in the future I may try going up to two 10” or two 12” speakers and a bigger amp, but for now this is plenty of bump for my daily commute needs.
