hey, so i recently traded of my 2008 for a 2014 SLT with big horn package.

i have a kinda small screen in my instrument cluster for speed, oil temp, coolant temp etc...

theres a setup men there that you can set what shows on the "info line" and format for the odometer...

i set the info line to show time but I'm not seeing any time whatsoever in that screen? is it sops to be only in a certain window...

i guess i should ask... where is the info line sops to e on that screen?

i think it only shows time when on the main menu or speedometer. it should show at the very top of the screen

On the top line I see compass direction and tempature. They put in an aftermarket radio with gps hope that didn't change anything. I doubt it though..

Yes, it's the small screen size it's bigger vertical instead of horizontal..

might have figured it out....

i was watching this youtube video.... on the main screen it said "hits 1" above the speedometer option... which is a sirius xm radio station... in the settings the info line can e radio or time....

mine is set to time but theres is just two lines in the info line...is there another setting or menu somewhere that is set to turn it off..? i don't get it.

thats what i am thinking... theres a very brief section in my book that mentions the clock setting and uconnect... obviously i don't have uconnect.

the stock radio was the 5.0 touchscreen i think.... in the future id like to upgrade to a 8.4 ra4 if thats possible.

my guess is that the EVIC gets the time from the radio but it's not able to read it from the aftermarket unit. you're also probably missing a lot of other settings too. most people i've seen that go aftermarket say you need to get everything set the way you want before doing the swap

it's possible to upgrade and i believe it's just a straight swap but you do also need the different dash piece. problem is it's not cheap unless you can find it on ebay or something

that's not bad at all. dealer quoted me $2700 for the radio plus $800 for the dash piece. pretty sure you also need it flashed

OEM parts is expensive and honestly kinda outdated now. There is a thread in the D.Y.I section by getupkid to upgrade from the 5.0 to the 8.4 with the factory bezel. I upgraded from the 5.0 to the 8.4 RA4 and I love it. It is all plug and play except you need to make a harness or have one made if you want to use the 8.4 bezel. Very doable and worth the time to read the thread. You can pick up the radios and other parts on e bay or Car-Part.com for a lot less than 1100.00 you can get your harnesses and switches from Tasca or any other Mopar parts supplier. All of the part numbers are in the thread.
