Hello everyone! Just got into a 2015 Ram 1500 lonestar edition with the 5.7. So far I love it it's got 300 miles on it now.

I know these questions are asked everyday and I apologize but I just don't see a lot of info for the 2015.

Best intake options?

I like the Magnaflow exhaust option, 15363 or the 16869

Any suggestions on intakes or exhaust? Best options? Goals are to be an above average truck in speed EVENTUALLY want to put a pro charger or supercharger so a tuner would be a waste correct?

Well nothing has changed for 2015 so all the parts should fit! Personally I don't like MagnaFlow. It's just not the sound I wanted from my truck, and my muffler rusted all over very quickly for something that was supposed to be stainless steel. I'm more of an aggressive sound guy, which I just wasn't getting. That's why I went with MBRP for my 2014. The MBRP is my favorite out of all the exhaust systems I've had by far!

That being said lots of guys love maggys and they work great for them. It's hard to recommend exhaust because everyone's preference is different!

As for an intake I'd definitely go with a vararam if you're looking for speed. I'm not sure if a supercharger would get in the way of it though. For now I'd put one on, if you need to take it off later those things sell quick on here! You can also go the S&B route, it's the 2nd best performing Ram intake.

A tuner is a must, especially with a supercharger. You'd want a professional tune shop with a dyno to set it up for you once you get the pro charger though. Before you get it a hemifever tune would make a huge difference! I don't believe 15 tuning is available yet though.

You'll also want a catch can, long tube headers, larger throttle body, e fan, 180 t Stat, under drive pully the list goes on lol.

I just got my rig about 4.5 weeks ago as well, you will find plenty of sound clips in the exhaust thread to form your own opinion on what you like. Also do a search for best exhaust and you will find poll threads that will indicate the masses prefer the sound of the Magnaflow best. I ran a Flowmaster on my '12 Durango R/T and it droned to all hell so I didn't want a chambered muffler. I personally liked the Carven and Magnaflow best but Carven is still delayed in offering their bolt on kit and I loved the Magnaflow clips as well so I just ordered up the Boesch Built 14'' Magnaflow kit which should be here today. You will find a few options for a direct swap in muffler set up that bolts in place as well as catback system (both offers the same diameter pipe) but going with tips and muffler will save you a few hundred bucks. As far as intake the consensus seems to be Vararam or S&B but I can't give you any advise there as I have yet to figure out which one I want... good luck!!

Doesn't the pro charger setup come with its own tuner or am I incorrect? Don't get me wrong something like that is way down the road. But I don't want to buy one just to have to get rid of it ya know?

MBRP? I haven't thought of them, I just like the sound of Magnaflow over Flowmaster but I'll have to check MBRP out.

Long tube headers over shorties?

Umm I'm not sure if it does, I've never looked into it lol. You could always resell a Diablo tuner and get a lot back out if it though!

Yeah i've had Flowmaster, MagnaFlow, straight pipe, and MBRP. The Flowmaster 10 sounded really good. It was loud and aggressive. It had a bad drone though, especially when towing. The maggy 14" was even worse with the drone on my truck. It sounded deep and not bad from outside, but it had some sort of muffled drone on my truck which annoyed me. When towing it was about as bad as the Flowmaster, maybe as tad worse. Straight pipe was epic, but just too loud lol. The MBRP has a deep mean idle and isn't annoying when driving. I get almost 0 drone, only get it when MDS kicks in, but it doesn't bother me. When I floor it, it's loud! Lol

Here's a comparison from stock - straight - MBRP

Here's another clip of my MBRP. This gives you a good indication of what it sounds like at idle now

Vararam is a good intake, but if you're going to boost I would suggest holding off since you wont be able to use that.

For exhaust, just get what sounds the best to you. Magnaflow is good. Might check out Carven too, has a really unique sound.

That sounds nasty. But straight pipe will not pass emissions. I just had an 6.4 powerstoke that I had a 5" straight pipe and was hell trading it in and I don't want to worry about inspections and what have you.

I had a 2010 ram sport with all the extras on it a few years ago and didn't get as much for my Diablo as I felt was fair but I had no use for it with a diesel so I lost that battle. Don't know if I want to do that again. I do like how your rig sounds though it sounds rowdy!

If I did a pro charger down the like I wouldn't be able to use the Vararam? Don't know if I like that.

Never heard of Carven, I'll have to check them out as well.

Did they change some laws in Houston?
When I lived there (Tomball actually) I passed all the time with my GTP. It has straight pipes.

I think game issues wither powerstroke because it was diesel. They get scrutinized more.

Pretty sure with a procharger the Vararam won't work. Again you can always sell the Vararam. People do by used parts. haha

The only supercharger kit that will work with an aftermarket intake is the Edelbrock Eforce. It is the only supercharger that retains the location of the factory throttle body.

Tuning is also not available for the 2015 models yet.

If you are set of getting the procharger, then I would just skip the intake for now.

The Magnaflow 16869 is a very nice kit. I ran this exact kit on my 2011, and couldn't have been happier with the sound, look, and fitment. Its mellow enough to be comfortable on trips with the family, but loud enough at WOT to know you have a hemi under the hood. The 5" tips really look nice in the bumper as well.
