Interior Comparison: 2009 Ram vs 2019 Ram

Hey,

Look at this gem of a picture. I came across a few old photos on my hard drive, and found an interior picture from my 2009 Ram (I don't have the truck anymore). There was no digital touch screen!

This is from Car and Driver Magazine "If you’re lookin’ for a manly ride, it gets no manlier than the Dodge Ram. And for 2009, Dodge steps up the macho with bossy new sheetmetal and a more powerful Hemi V-8. But during a brief preview spin, we discovered that the Ram 1500 also has been tamed by heaps of refinement."

I remember how great the Ram looked to me back then. Funny ten years later to see how much more refinements Ram has made to their trucks....

I like the top picture way more. New one is just way too many fingerprints and way too much lighting in the cab driving at night for my liking.

Not disagreeing with you, but there is a big button under the right knob that turns off the 12" screen, and two controls for interior lighting by the left knee.

I have an '09 with the touch screen system, and it's just about right for me. I didn't mind the look of the later - 13+ - with the 8" screen, but that looks like a confusing mess to me. Guess I'm getting old...

I have a 2011 with the touch screen nav and alpine audio and a 2017 with the 8.4 and alpine audio. I prefer the 2011 unit by a wide margin so you're not the only one. I find I drive my 2011 a lot more than the 17 because I prefer the controls.
