Yes, please do share some specifics. I see the user joined last Thursday, has no posts but has been engaged in PM activity.

I can't see the content of the PMs so what is this new member sending along? You can cut and paste the content of a PM if you received one and send it to me via PM.

I won't ban them until I have some information that supports such action.

That is all the proof I have, but to me, that is sufficient

Look in the lower left corner of the screenshot you posted, see where is says: Report.
Click on that and state the reason why your reporting it.
There's a Report button on the bottom of all posts and DMs

Same person was sending that same message to multiple people on multiple topics, used the surgical strike of marking them Spam.

More than sufficient. Looks like @crash68 has sent the scammer to the byte bucket.

He sent me a message about an item I was looking for in the "Wanted" section I saw the message today. The post has since been deleted.

Admins should consider having a 5 post minimum in order to post in the wanted to buy forum or to be able to send PMs . We did that on the Dart forum and no more scammers.

He wasn't posting in the For Sale section. All I found was PMs.

However, new members can usually PM anyone on the site so we'll look into that and if possible, add a minimum time and/or # of posts required before PMs can be sent. I think the option of a minimum # of posts would be the most viable option we could implement.

I get lots of messages from folks who join the forum with no posts, looking to buy items from me or needing support for someone else's product.

I'm sure other vendors get messages from non posters as well.

Community reporting is fairly effective and the mods are usually prompt at taking a look into things, especially if they get multiple reports.

Be advised that it may take a day or so for the system to update your User Profile to log your registration time, your post count and grant access. The same amount of time for the system to log your User Profile with Supporting Member status will apply.

We are considering limiting the ability of how many posts are required prior to being able to send a PM. I think 50 is a good number and believe we can make that happen on the backend of the site software. I will discuss that with Shaggy & Griffin.

Only as often as the members report a scammer PM. We can't read PMs except for our own.
