Have my intune and the mds will not turn off when trying to modify. Every other setting sticks, however MDS once you select and go back to the previous menu if you go back into MDS it is set back to "on". No response from DS yet.

Also, anyone have an idea of what the canned tunes are? I can't seem to find any information on them.

93 is grayed out for some reason... but there was a diablo tune... and another one I cant recall the name. Then the 91 and 87.

Any advice is appreciated guys, since I can't even get a response on the DS forum.

I just installed a used I3 that I bought. During initial install I had to do about 25 minutes of updates and a calibration update before everything worked as per install instructions.

If you did not perform all updates that is where I would start.

You can do this wireless just need to have your truck near the wireless range.

Last, it seemed my truck has performed differently after it sat overnight. Not certain why

I had a similar problem with my trinity. Make sure you are not in demo mode. Check last tune written and see if your VIN shows up or something like diablodemo.

Its def not in demo mode because the speed limiter sticks. So does the increase of throttle.

Does anyone have a list of what the canned tunes do though?

The "Diablo" tune is the 93 tune.

Thanks. Any idea what else it does or just change for 93 gas... ? And where did you get the info.

Did you update the programmer at DS's website before you installed it?

The 3 "canned tunes" basically adjust fuel delivery and timing depending on the fuel octane rating. The other "modify tune" options are self-explanatory.

I had to get a custom tune on my I2 for the 6.4L truck to be able to turn off MDS. It was never selectable in the menu although I could see it.

I'd suggest you return the truck to stock and update the programmer through a PC, then plug it back in and select the tune and options you want. Make sure you load a tune first, then try to modify it. Some options to modify a tune aren't available until the canned tune is loaded onto your truck.

Thanks, I did update it. Before I did that it said vehicle unsupported. I did not attempt to load a tune just modify the stock one. I will return it to stock, attempt to update again and then load the diablo tune.

I just thought it was weird there was an option there for 93 tune but it was grayed out... if the diablo tune is the 93 I would have thought they would have just removed that option.

Anyway, appreciate the help!

They don't normally not make the 93 tune available as that octane fuel is available in places.

I've always run a 92 tune in my car as I can get 91 octane fuel.

Once you've done the update (it's not unusual for it to be done a couple of times to really update), then load one of the programmer's canned tunes (whichever octane tune fits you best) then, go back in to modify that tune which should be the "last tune written".

Thanks for the tip. I can't get 91 can only get 93 :(

Will give this a try over the weekend. Appreciate the help. The response time on the diablo forum is pretty slow.

Like I said I had the same problem. I updated my trinity took about an hour. Then tried to install the 93 oct tune from diablo with pcm swap. Only tunes that were available were 87 and 91. Installed 91 and something was not right demo mode. So restored everything back to stock even PCM. Then did the steps all over again. When I was finally able to select my vehicle which was under 15 year model even though my truck is a 16, trinity told me I needed to recalibrate the tool . Had to hook it back up to my computer and hit the recalibrate tab on the diablo software. Finally was able to hook it back up to my truck and all of diablos tunes were there 93 91 and 89.

On the DS forum one of the techs answered your 93 question and said the only difference between 91 and 93 was 2 degrees of timing which you can add to the 91 tune and then you have it .

If I read that right it also says with the 50 state model you cant adjust the timing either.

Just curious what the diablo tune does, but regardless will probably just contact jay greene.

I had the same issue with turning off MDS with my Trinity 2. If I tried to just turn off the MDS and nothing else I would get a spinning circle. The tune wouldn't load and it also didn't show in the adjustable parameters before loading. If I tried to turn off MDS and traction it would show traction in the adjustable parameters, but not the MDS and the tune would load, but it didn't shut MDS off.

I contacted Diablo support and they had me download an update that they said came out that day (a couple of days ago). I did that and it didn't change anything. I still can't get it to load the tune with just the MDS off. I tried going back to stock and loading from scratch, but it didn't make any difference. I've tried a couple of times. On one attempt I got an error and it said it was creating a log, but it didn't do that either.

I'm hoping a custom tune can take care of this. I really want to get rid of the MDS without having to use the gear selector all the time.

On a side note I have been unable to create an account on the DS support forum. Emails to their forum go unanswered. Anyone else have an issue with that?

As far as the forum goes, I had the same issue. You need to email them directly to approve your forum account. [email protected] or [email protected]

Although, I emailed about that and my questions on the tuner and they only replied about approving the account. Any further emails back go unanswered.

The one I have is the platinum model . It accepts custom tunes and I think another thing is you can tune more than one vehicle just by buying another license for like a 100 bucks or so . I thought I could adjust timing and fuel and some other things I didn't need. I only have it because my superchips went screwy after doing an update so they offered it to me for free. I mainly wanted to turn off the MDS ,the speed limiter and adjust tire diameter which it did just fine . I blew my performance possibility when I bought a 6 speed w/3.55s. Lowering it now and will probably trade it in for something that don't shake over 65 mph

So I must have a different i3. Only has the 87 tune, 91 tune, and mpg tune.

You are asking about a tuner so you must be interested in performance so you really have to ask? Look at the 0-60 times of the 6sp vs 8sp and 1/4 mile differences w/3.55s in a 1500. That should be enough explanation. A 4x4 don't need a first gear as high as this one has then skip a gear as it shifts . The 5.7 lacks low end torque so why not help it with a real first gear like maybe 5 regular gears and 1 OD would of been fine . My last couple Rams had 5speed auto with 3.92s and it was fine with 35s this one is a pig is about the nicest thing I can say about it . They should of stuck to the way they used to make the 1500 ,if it had the 20" wheels with 33" tires you got 3.92s . That was my second mistake. Me not knowing they didnt do that any more I pretty much bought the wrong truck . I was not as prepared as I normally am when I bought or it woud of been 8sp w/3.92s .
