Oh man, sorry you are having such bad luck with rams so far (IIRC you got this one after the first one you bought had some engine issues?)...any other issues or symptoms with the screen before this happened? Had my last ram (2013) have some similar symptoms like these, in addition to others, and yeah the unit was no good at that point. I ditched the truck and moved on, but was ready to do so anyway. If I were to keep it I would have most likely replaced it with something aftermarket, as these stock unit's don't seem to last especially long in my experience.
Other option I've seen as oppose to going with a stock replacement, is to take it out and send it to some company that can fix it. I just saw a thread about it here recently, I'll see if I can find it.
Edit: Saw in another post the company is called Navrepair...I know at least a few people on here have used them.
Not too bad luck actually, I really liked that black truck but luckily enough I caught the issue before it caused me any headache. I don’t know what was wrong with the camera but the tailgate was facing most of the wind and rain from last night so it may have been that. I check the connection and everything looked fine. Just glad it’s working again!

Yeah the black Laramie was a great truck until I heard the noise. I had it for seven days and basically on the second day I heard what sounded like a random chirp and I thought it was coming from the pulley area of the motor. As busy as I was that week I decided to look into it over the weekend. when I failed to isolate it and make sure it was the pulley I decided to drive it over to my trusted mechanic and ask him what he thought. He told me the noise was coming from inside the motor so being the seventh day I took it back. Initially they offered to fix it thinking the same thing that I had thought, that it was a pulley, but for some reason they failed to listen And took it into the shop to diagnose it. They called me a couple of days later and said yeah guess you better pick out another truck, the fix is going to be $8000.

The connection will work itself loose over time. After the 2nd time this happened to me I removed the cover on the tailgate and zip tied the connection in place. Haven’t had a problem since. Now I just need my radio to turn off when it’s supposed to [emoji58]

Wow I guess you caught that just in time, big picture looks like it worked out as good as it could if the truck was going to have a catastrophic failure like that. Good to have a trustworthy mechanic around like that!
How long is it staying on?
30secs. It’s not the engine off setting. That’s all set to zero. After the engine is off and the driver’s door is opened it should shut off regardless of the setting. Seems like I need an update. It’s all on another thread. Don’t want to hijack this one.
