Is my frame rail missing something?

This is what my left-side frame rail looks like, near where the bed meets the cab. Is there supposed to be a fish plate there or something?
Truck is a '94 2500 5.9 gas

Holly cow that doesn,t look good. That frame is ready to break and that will not be good for anyone.

I'd say that what it's missing is a big chunk of the frame. Not good at all. That looks like a snapped frame waiting to happen.
