Is there a 'best' in-channel vent shade for the 5th Gen?

Before anyone yells, I did SEARCH, and I read every single post I could find about vent shades. I really didn't see a clear winner for an in-channel vent shade.

Recently bought my truck (info under Avatar) and it had stick-on AVS vent shades. They were cheap looking and cracked, so I took them off. Then I fought with the tape residue to remove that stuff, but a 3M eraser wheel truly helped with that task.

I'd like to get away from stick-ons and utilize in-channel vents. Is the Mopar set gonna be the best bet for good looks and proper fit? Or is there some other brand?

Thanks.......

I did WeatherTech

Yeah, this is the one I'm thinking about. Did you get the whole set of 4? I have read some complaints that the rear shades did not stay in place... did you have any issues with that?

Thanks

I have the tinted WT ones and they stay in place as long as you install the included clips in the window channel correctly. Had them for 2 years now without any issues.

Did the same, WeatherTech, all 4 windows two years ago. Happy.

WeatherTech for my rig on all four.

I for one like the way their in-channel fronts have the down piece going all the way to the bottom of the window frame.
Looks great and adds more functionality in my opinion.
The rears stay in place just fine, too. Just install the clips properly and you're good to go.

Hot or cold, they don't warp and don't cause any issues for the window regulators either.

Ensure you clean the channels well before installation, and leave the windows up for a day or two so they can seat in better.

I also lube the channels with silicone spray so there is zero friction and freely moving windows.

Hey bro, my truck looks just like yours, same colors & chrome. :waytogo:
Are those WT shades you bought glossy finish, or matte?
I'm looking for the glossy ones. If yours are the glossy ones, would you happen to have the part number?

Thanks

Sorry I didn’t get to your reply earlier. Busy day in my crane. Yep I ordered the glossy tinted ones and love them!

The only issue I had was one of my St. Bernards knocked it out one time when he pushed his big nugget between the window and the vent and popped it out. Had to get a new one to replace it. But other than that, they work well and do what they're supposed to. I got the 4 window set.

I’ve always had good luck with AVS in several vehicles. Quality, performance and price. Had one that a small crack developed on recent drive to Alaska. Contacted them online, sent a copy of invoice and a photo of the damage, they sent a complete replacement no questions asked. Can’t do better than that. By the way, they are all “in channel”, not “stick on”.

I used WeatherTech and have had to replace back vent shades and they don't seem to hold in place very well. The last replacement I got had double sided tape added along with clips but the tape was preinstalled to low to stick to anything and I lost it again. I contacted weather tech and they asked for receipts an pictures. It seems they may be replacing under warranty.
