Is there a 'best' oil catch can for 2019 5.7L?

Recently bought a 5th Gen 2019 Longhorn with the standard 5.7L, non-eTorque, 55k miles. It doesn't have a catch can, and I imagine the intakes are already a bit clogged up, so wanna install a catch can setup to try and minimize further carbon buildup.

I see a LOT of different (yet similar) ones for sale. Are they all basically the same, or is there one that you guys seem to think is better?? Please don't get into discussion if it's necessary or not, that topic has been beat to death everywhere. I'm simply gonna install one.

Thanks for any help selecting one.

Too many options to list. They all basically do the same thing. There are some made specifically for 5th gen Ram 1500's with the Hemi. Those will tend to be more expensive. Sometimes by a lot, compared to many of the generic options out there. I have a Mishimoto because I didn't want to have to deal with coming up with mounting provisions on my own. And I got a really good price on it LOL. Check ebay and Amazon for lots of generic options. Pay attention to the reviews.

I agree with Mike, there's lot of cans available for the hemi.I prefer Moroso's cans, cause they employ a drain valve, and usually mount the can away from the engines heat. A catch can is more efficient the farther away from engine heat you can get it.
I'm no fan of Billet Techs can,or any can that you have to unscrew to empty, eventually the aluminium threads will start to gall.

I agree with you as far as Moroso including a drain valve, but they don't make one specific to the 5th gen Ram 1500. So anyone wanting to install one on a 5th gen would have to figure out how to mount it. If I'm spending that much I'd want it to have vehicle specific mounting provisions. I guess it was a good thing I had an old Moroso CC from my last 4th gen to steal the valve from to use on my Mishimoto :D

I haven't looked at the rad mounting in a 5th gen close enough to pay attention to whether the Morosso can would mount to a rad bolt or not. What are the chances of you getting us a couple pics of the passenger side upper rad mounting bolts Mike, lol.
I never thought of the fact a 4th gen can might not work on a 5th gen.The Mishimoto is a good can to,it's better then Billet Tech's can.

Ahhh, you guys are great, thanks for the tips. Does this one in the pic below look like a decent choice then?

Thanks

Trust me, Rick I would have just mounted the Moroso can if it would have mounted on a 5th gen the same way. As I was considering modifications to the existing mount this Mishimoto basically fell into my lap so I never put in the effort lol.

That's literally the same can I have. Apologies for not including a link. It's one of the best out there IMHO.

There are a few good brands. We prefer and recommend the UPR catch cans. That is what I run and I installed on my son's truck as well. The multi chamber design is what separates the good ones from the $20 ones on ebay.

We offer them here

from their web site...what does this mean?

" Not legal for sale or use on pollution-controlled vehicles"

aren't all vehicles these days pollution controlled?

The only thing it separates is your money from your wallet. :dogpile:

Funny that the 20$ ones still fill up to the top in the winter :anitoof:

Posted those pictures plenty of times.

When its cold you get lots of condensation in the can, thats why the oil looks like chocolate milk in there. Glad your's seems to be working for you.

LOL, I just installed my Mishimoto yesterday. It looks just like that pic ^^^^^^^.

I must admit, all the parts were incredible, at least OEM quality, maybe even better. Even the hose clamps were top shelf, they operated smooth as butter, not like the crummy ones you'd buy at auto parts store. Installation was a breeze, everything fit perfectly, and looks like it came as OEM equipment. I give this kit a top rating, two thumbs up! :waytogo: :waytogo:
