It Didnt Fit!

My current Laramie Limited was getting long in the tooth with 80,000 miles so I decided to test a new 2021. A friends dealership let me take one home for a quick test fit and low and behold, I dented the tailgate trying to squeeze her in. Saddened by this, I test drove a Durango SRT and several 2018 Rams with 20,000 miles. After some comedic experiences with several dealerships including running out of gas on a test drive I decided to forego parking in the garage and buying a new limited.

I notice all have the Sport Hood....even though non-functional I had to have it. Which one did you get, I presume the black Limited in the garage?

I ended up buying the White limited. The demonico was a used 19 that literally ran out of gas on my test drive. Although it had a perfect carfax the entire front clip of the car was painted. Buying a car these days is interesting.

Here's MY 19 Bighorn (5th Gen) in the garage, center bay. Left bay longer, but full of Hossie Food (HAY). I just make it.

We're building a new house and I'm glad I checked the garage size before they got started or I don't think the truck would fit. Had to sacrifice a bedroom, but I will now have a double-deep garage on the "truck side" ;-) In addition to the truck, I should be able to get my Harley Road Glide Ultra in there as well as a work bench and my roller cabinet tool box. They are really shrinking everything to cut cost, and at a glance you don't notice it. Again - glad I checked the print before hand!

I’ve got exactly 1.5” on each end clearance. I put a foam stopper in the back so my bumper JUUUST kisses it so I know I made it all the way... bottoming out as it were...

A couple of years ago I knew I was going to be ordering a crew cab with long bed at 22' long. So when I was building my house I designed it with a 28' deep garage. The fit is no problem.

The fact that the bumper does not protrude further than the tailgate is very sad. I too have dented my tailgate in much the same way.

Had you backed in faster the truck could have fit.
