I just recently bought a jack and some jack stands myself. I needed something for the truck, Charger and my zero turn mower. While these are probably overkill, I feel better knowing I'm OVER rated vs under rated.

If you want the best, probably a Hein Werner or US Jack is your best bet as they are both American made. And even some of their product lines you need to double check. The problem with the American made stuff is a jack will cost $300+ for an entry level model (some much more). Jack stands start at $100. That being said, some of the other companies that use import manufacturing have stepped up their game. Best way to determine is read reviews on Amazon, GarageJournal, or other similar style sites. Read up on the Craftsman stuff before you buy -- last I read, they weren't doing so stellar -- but in general Craftsman has taken a nose dive in quality overall.

Arcan 3.5 Ton Professional Jack:
This thing is a beast, 100+ pounds, so it's not meant to transport around; however, once you get it in the garage, it's easy to roll around as needed. It's low profile so it'll fit under sports cars, and it lifts higher than many other jacks to work better w/ trucks. The handle is massive and makes jacking things up a breeze.

6 Ton Torin Jack Stands:
Again, more capacity than you need, but it will comfortably support the weight of the truck, plus give you added height that smaller jack stands may not. Remember, when you get jack stands to the top of their height, there is greater risk of failure. The bases are nice and wide. Plus they have a DOUBLE lock system. You have the ratchet style locks like most jack stands. And then you have a thick pin type device to slide in as a secondary catch.

Only negative is you need to pull them out of the package and inspect the welds while at the store. While I'm sure they are all of sufficient strength & quality, some look more sloppy than others which doesn't give me the warm fuzzies. The first set I pulled out didn't look awesome, so I opened a second set and was good to go. If you read up on this matter, you will find welds are getting sloppy in general -- even on USA made stands.

After reading this i went out and bought these exact items and im really impressed with the jack. The stands look heavy duty and im sure they will hold up to anything i throw at them. I was just a little dissapointed because it looked like they threw them in the box while the paint was still wet. They had cardboard seperating the two jack stands and it was all stuck to the paint.

Glad my review was able to help you. I've been really happy with everything I got and for the money would buy the same again.

I do remember the cardboard between them and even smelling the paint. The cardboard was a bit sticky/tacky but wasn't stuck to my stands by any means.

I find 6 Ton are just perfect for working height when tires off the ground and good stance (area and stability) as well as the top surface perfect for diff housing or front frame support. Danny
