When I bought my Ram I was looking at getting a Power Wagon, But I could not get an 8 ft bed or a Cummins Diesel, So I bought my Laramie @500 4x2.
8ft bed and diesel is a bad idea in a PW

Blasphemy lol. Long beds go places. A Cummins now I agree and disagree.
To long of a wheelbase. I personally don't like diesel bur as an off roader a diesel is a bad idea lol. To much weight and the final ratio is lower then a gasser. A guy who belongs to our offroad group basically made a 2500 CTD into a power wagon and he sinks in the mud like crazy lol. Not to mention wouldn't be able to have the winch on a CTD

My long bed hasn’t stopped me once. I agree about the weight though. But not everybody hits the mud. Really boils down to the terrain you’ll be on mostly.

When you get into tight trails it a big no no lol. The only terrain I can think of from experience a diesel would be good would be hill climbs. The driver and tires do play a 95% in the equation

Southern az. Oh yes there’s places I can’t go.....typically it’s cause the two rock walls are too narrow to fit....or I can’t get straight enough because of length. I have yet to meet a switchback I can get though just gotta pivot a bit haha.

Well, is a regular cab 8’ bed any longer than the crew cab shortbed that the power wagon comes with?
Nope. They’re the same. I was looking at a single longbed and it was same as a crew short bed. It they’re not the same they’re damn close.

8’ bed is about a peters length shorter than a crew cab 6.4 bed
