Yea I noticed the welds right away and they're perfect I do a lot of mig welding myself I'm sure installing them is gonna be a little of a nut buster but patience is what it takes to install them and a few beers afterwardsOh man those are nice! Sure wished they made some for my 03.
Notice how perfect the welds are, that's the first thing that stood out to me when I saw them in person.
Let us know how the install goes, no way in Hell I'll be doing mine myself.
I first ordered my Kooks from nick and they had no idea when I was gonna receive them. Canceled my order and got them from summit racing and received them in 3 days so they do exist. I recommend you get the Kooks trust meGot with Nick and ordered a set of Gibson shorties for the truck, they ain't Kook's because they don't exist, but if they're as good as the Gibson cat-back system I already have I'll be happy.
These are also the headers my hemi mechanic told me to go with too.
Thanks for your help Nick.

Hey my friend you are absolutely 100 % correct I install my Kooks headers and I drove 20 miles home. I opened the hood right away and the only heat I felt was from the radiator radiator hoses & heater hoses I put my hand a ½ inch away from the headers and felt no heat what so ever this is fact not ******** so they don't need to be wrapped if you get headers I highly recommend kooksI was just looking at heat transfer differences from 409 to 304
409 Stainless Steel has the best heat transfer capability of any stainless steel used in outdoor furnaces, having about 60% more heat transfer capability than 304 SS and a similar heat transfer capability to mild steel when factoring in the thickness of material necessary for mild steel furnaces.
so the 304 is less likely to need a wrap
and will live longer as to corrosion
If and when I go with headers I will go Kooks

Thanks my brother Im glad I got KooksThey look nice !!!
Yeah, both MOEs and Nick can get them ceramic coated ... can't go wrong with either of them ...
We have a company local here in Santa that i have used before to powder coat all my long tubes, Embee Performance. For headers they used to have special coatings for the inside and another for the outside. They were doing a lot of work for the desert racer dudes Mint 400, Baja 1000, CORR etc.
I could touch my headers with my hands after getting off my cars without burning my hands.
When i get my Cali Shorty headers i'll send them to these people for powder coating prep.

Just when you think youve looked and researched all shorties..... Never even seen a header like this. Please let us know how it goes.Well, well, well, look what arrived yesterday from Nick!
Gibson ceramic coated log style shorties!
Very impressed with the quality of these too, caverness and slick as butter on the inside too!
Thanks Nick!

These are log style, but not anything like the restricted stock log style manifold.Just when you think youve looked and researched all shorties..... Never even seen a header like this. Please let us know how it goes.
So I'm reading great things and bad things about this header, sometimes I read too much. lol
Getting with my mechanic at lunch tomorrow to work out some details and I'll report back what I notice after I get them installed with a butt dyno result.
Not sure of the range of years, but definitely for the 03's.So for what years are these ?
