about arp bolts?

Honestly man no reason to get any other bolts with headers ... the chances of warping and snapping the bolt's heads with headers is zero

@Simpleman also, some companies will void the warranty on the headers if they are wrapped and some if they are coated ... if they can determine that they rusted because of a wrap they will void them no questions asked ... so it's really pick your poison just like with anything else ... just make sure you protect surrounding lines from the headers ..

Some people don't even wrap or coat headers anyways and have zero problems as long as they protect the lines ...

What are your suggestions to protect surrounding area's? Wrap ? If so what's a good wrap I've never installed headers before only replaced my broken studs

Google Remflex 6022 gaskets,they're your friends as far as header gaskets go. The biggest advantage is they don't need re-torquing and they'll absorb any header flange mis-alignment you might have.They have a good rep in the hi-po world of boosted or nitrous fed trucks,that generate alot more exhaust heat then a naturally aspirated basically stock truck does.Invest in some good quality gear wrenches,and stay away from the Stage 8's,you can't get all the locking clips on them,and you'll hate the s.o.b who sold them to you,if you ever have to remove the headers down the road,stick with the bolts that come with the headers,they're already paid for.

I checked out those gaskets and they sound pretty dam good I think im going with them

What are your suggestions to protect surrounding area's? Wrap ? If so what's a good wrap I've never installed headers before only replaced my broken studs

I wouldn't worry about header warrenty,for the most part the headers of today will outlive the time you own the vehicle.

There are tons of heat screens that come in rolls like tape or big sheets that you can cut to size ... what brand ? that I couldn't tell you ... I haven't decided on that yet for our trucks for this weekend lol ...

Great videos boosted always put's out great videos I see he used oem type felpro gaskets is that better because of the heat shield?

We stuck with the felpro gaskets that were sent to us from AFE .... the heat shield is not enough though to protect the surrounding areas... you still need something else because the orginal heat shields that actually covered the manifolds had to be removed completely ...

I would, you can usually touch a wrapped header by accident with-out any harm to your body,you aren't touching a ceramic coated header unless you really like pain,lol
A few of the tuners are reconmending wrapping headers these days,as they have less issues with tuning vehicles with wrapped headers,even a stock tune will pull timing on the trucks with ceramic coated headers. The worst issue is when you install them unwrapped and then have issues with the knock sensors pulling timing and you end up having to pull them back off and wrap them anyways,that's fairly common on the trucks ,lol. Your call,but the last thing you want is your headers pulling timing on you,and the truck actually having less power then it did with the stock manifolds.

For our application with afe headers they recommended coating over the wrapping

So I honestly wouldn't consider wrapping headers myself anymore

Thats a wifes tail from AFE about the wrap retaining moisture ,lol. If you think about how hot the exhaust gases are and how hot the headers run,moisture doesn't stand much of a chance on the external side of the pipes. The by product of burning gas in a combustion chamber is water,and it's the reason exhaust systems rot from the inside out,they don't rot from the outside in.
