Just ordered a JL Audio a Stealth box SB-D-QDRAM/10W3v3 for my 2014 Ram with Alpine.

Personally other than the bass I think the Alpine system sounds great. By installing a separate sub, I'm hoping I can crank the overall bass down from the head unit and get cleaner power to all speakers which may also give my system more useable power.

Going to use a JL XD300/1v2 300 watt Amp to drive it. They are pricey but JL builds new high quality products. Anyone else use a set up like this?

I went to the local audio shop here in town to talk over sub upgrades on my crew cab and that box is what they recommended. They suggested powering it with a 300 watt sub (XD-600-1). Probably would sound great. All in though it would be around $1500 after the install. I decided to try out the pre fab kicker 10" and we'll see how it goes. I have the base audio so figured that I needed upgrades all around versus others that have the alpine may just need additional base. There is someone out here that has one used for sale at around $400. You can probably find him using the search. Good luck with it, it will probably sound darn good.
