For basic tuning (and most stuff people want to tweak) JScan will have you covered. It’s only when you have more advanced stuff you want to do is when I’d bust out my Alfa . Both have their place... but for a quick convenient change JScan is definitely my go to. And regardless of iOS or Android JScan works on both I believe.@XXSNOTRODXX Thanks for the info. I have AlphaOBD, but sometimes just don't have the time to fiddle around with it. I think I'll try JScan out.
I think Alfa would take off like a rocket if they made 2 very important changes. Add support for iOS and overhaul the user interface.
.
True, if only all players could just get along for the benefit of the consumer .That's more of apple having their stuff "locked" then AlfaOBD adding the support. There area lot of devices that will not work right with apple because of this, hence why jailbreaking took off as well as it did
It LOOKS like it from what I can tell . But I have not tried it so I can’t 100% confirm.

On 2013-2018 Rams (and 2019+ ram classics), the RF Hub needs to be reset in order for the hub to realize the new pressure thresholds in the BCM. Jscan can not do this, but AlfaOBD can.Reviving and hoping more info is available for the JScan. I’ve had this for a while and used it on my wife’s jku and my old 2011 ram and had great success with anything tried. Was able to disable my tpms on the 2011 ram with no problem since it went to ****. Got tired of the faulty modules giving false reading. Anyway I now have a 2015 ram 2500 and can’t for the life of me get the tpms to lower my threshold from the 80 psi factory setting. It will show the setting on my screen at the psi I want it at but it still sets off a low tire pressure light before it reaches my setting I have it set at. Hopefully I’m just doing something wrong maybe somebody has done this on a newer Ram.
I don’t have Facebook to reach out to the developer of JScan which is the only way to contact them.

Yes he needs a bypass cable. Not sure if Jscan can get it done but Alfa can. Can't tell you witch one is better but Alfa and an OBD MX+ dongle has treated me and many other users very well.Hi Guys,
Bumping an old thread here. We have a customer & forum member with a 23 Classic that needs to enable folding mirrors. Would you guys know if he needs a bypass cable and which of these solutions (Jscan or Alfa) would be best to use?
Thanks,
- Benny

For the bypass, send M2mods a PM. They are the best.
Those two systems probably don't have the capabilities that Alfa does. Alfa can do an absolutely crazy amount of stuff.Hi,
I'm the forum member in Benny's post #34.
I was wondering if there were any "next level" OBD2 programming interfaces that do not require defeating CHY's security gateway module with a bypass cable.
Do you know if any of these types of devices might work or are they simply diagnostic tools as opposed to having any programming capability?
Some of them are kind of pricey but given all the roadblocks I'm facing, in the long run they might be the most economical way to bring this effort to a positive conclusion.
Thanks.

Wow. This is interesting. The backstory is that I found an auto repair shop to install the mirrors, modules, and bezel but they didn't have the means to do the programming. If you are just needing to add powerfold mirrors there might be a sales code you can have activated by a dealer. Only thing that sucks is you need a cool dealer that will actually be willing to do it. Then you are going to pay $50-$100+ per sales code. All the local dealers for me suck so I didn't even bother.
If you want the dealer to try and add the sales codes so it stays after a recall related BCM flash vs AlfaOBD...
