I just picked up the ryobi 1/2 inch. Happened to look at HD online. Seen where if you bought the battery starter pack 2 3Ah batteries with charger and bag you got a free tool. So I got the impact. 104 bucks total.
Already had their large 18V kit from many years ago.

After having no luck keeping a Ryobi battery working after two years I switched to Rigid through the Home Depot. Buying Rigid through Home Depot gives you a lifetime warranty on the tool and the batteries. After four years the Rigid batteries are still providing good run times. I picked up two 1/2 impacts for $79 during a sale. The Rigid impacts are right up there with Dewalt and Milwaukee.

I pulled the Ryobi batteries apart and salvaged the 18650 cells (all China-made) for use in other applications. Most Ryobi battery fails had one cell go, the worst had 4 bad cells.

I have several Dewalt and Ryobi tools - slowing going to all Ryobi as they have a good selection of yard tools. For drilling, driving screws the smaller 1.5 Ah batteries are okay but if you are using an impact to change tires - even on a car - you want a 4 or 6 Ah battery.

I have several 20v Dewalt tools. I'm thinking of adding the impact. That would be very handy on the RV.

I have the Craftsman 19.2v impact. Same Li-ion battery powers a **** ton of other stuff that I have, like drills, right angle drill, sawzall, circular saw, sander, various lights, leaf blower, weed wacker, etc.
What’s ur opinion of the craftsman

Awesome. Definitely get the Li-Ion and not the NiCad battery; the NiCad's just don't last. The only tool I had an issue with was the weedwacker, switch got disconnected internally. Took it apart and fixed it three years ago.

I don't know how I could do w/o my little Milwaukee 1/4" compact hex impact wrench. It is the handiest damn tool. I use it waaayyy more than I thought I would. It speeds up any project an amazing amount.

Probably the most dynamic tool in my arsenal. Drill/tap, drive screws, hell I even use it to snug my lug nuts during tire rotations before torquing. Delicate enough to put my toddlers toy assemblies together with the clutch at setting 1.

Adapters galore

100% Milwaukee here as well. I do a lot of mechanical work and have several of their tools. Well made powerful and tough. I also have their 1/2 impact gun and it's amazing. There isn't much it won't take off.

I've got a kobalt 1/4 inch and their 1/2 inch 24v impacts. 1/4 inch does lugs no problems, the 1/2 is strong enough to get control arms off.

I see they make a 1" beast now..
The new Milwaukees 1" is 1800ft/lbs loosening and 1500ft/lbs tightening. How in the heck do they get that in an 18v tool? Pretty impressive. I have the 1/2".high torque and I have yet to find a bolt I can't break loose. It's loosened stuff I couldn't get with a 4' breaker bar and the 1" is 50% higher than mine. I want one.
