I hope this is the right place to post this, and it may seem trivial to most of you.

My 2017 Ram SLT Quad cab came with a key FOB that doesn't include the remote start function. It simply has the red panic button on the end and, below that, the unlock & lock buttons.

I have read that some key FOBs can be programmed such that the first press of the unlock button unlocks only the drivers door, and if it's pushed again within 5s, all 4 doors are unlocked.

I really like this configuration. Is this possible with my "simple" key FOB? If so, who do I program it?

If not, do I need an "upgraded" key FOB for this configuration?

I have seen this discussed nowhere. :Insane:

If you have an RA2, RA3, RA4 Radio, you can do this under 'Settings' on the radio, i.e. Unlock all doors or Driver's door on first press...

Normal function for two quick presses to unlock all doors, no programming should be needed.
Another trick is two unlocks and hold the second one and it'll lower both front windows.

As to Rick, I do not have a RA2, RA3, RA4 Radio. I have an aftermarket head unit.

As to NJMopar, when you say:
"Normal function for two quick presses to unlock all doors ..."

this makes no sense. As I said, first press opens all doors.

Ppl sometimes are not aware that before they install aftermarket radios, that while they still have the original radio in the truck & working
They have to set functions to work the way that they will want them to from that day of the radio change onward.
If you really need to make function changes after that, the OEM radio has to be reinstalled, or find a auto shop that has a magic box

Some of the things that i think many ppl would want to set, would be
Door Lock unlock, 1 door, 2 door, 4 door, or whatever they settings are
Another thing might be how soon your headlights shut off after you lock the door, i think mine are set to about 1 minute, some ppl need the lights to stay on longer, if their front house door is 50 feet away

That's only if you do a halfassed install. If you use a proper interface such as an idata maestro, all your settings are readily available on the aftermarket radio.
